Call of Duty’s Messy UI To Be Streamlined and Install Size To Be Reduced Ahead of Black Ops 6 Launch
As a seasoned Call of Duty player with years of gaming under my belt, I must say that this recent announcement from Activision has me pumped! The streamlined Call of Duty HQ experience ahead of Black Ops 6 is music to my ears (or should I say, thumbs).
Activision is planning some changes to enhance the Call of Duty HQ experience before the release of Black Ops 6 in October. This includes tidying up the user interface, organizing game content together with the introduction of Modern Warfare 3’s Season 5: Reloaded, and minimizing the large game install sizes.
The latest post reveals plans to enhance how players engage with and retrieve their Call of Duty collection. This involves making the menus sleeker, reducing file sizes for downloads, offering more control over what’s downloaded, and focusing on games. These changes are inspired by user feedback and internal testing experiences, aiming to provide a better gaming experience overall.
On August 21st (also the day Season 5: Reloaded launches featuring the revamped The Crow as a new operator), we’ll be reorganizing our game files, and we plan to overhaul the Call of Duty HQ user interface for a mid-October release. This is all in preparation for the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25th.
As a diehard fan, I’m excited about the change where Call of Duty: Warzone is no longer bundled automatically with the annual CoD releases. Instead, you now have the freedom to choose whether to include it in your download or opt for a separate installation. This decision will lead to smaller file and download sizes due to the increased use of texture streaming technology. Less frequently used content will be stored in a streaming cache, ensuring a smoother gaming experience without compromising on quality.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that as a token of appreciation for your dedication during Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5: Reloaded, we’re offering a complimentary Community Pack! This pack includes 10 one-hour Double Player XP Tokens, 10 one-hour Double Weapon XP Tokens, and 10 Battle Pass Token Tier Skips. Enjoy the boost!
A Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Open Beta is also due to go live from 30th August to 4th September.
