The upcoming Call of Duty movie is gaining momentum with some major talent. Paramount Pictures and Activision have confirmed that Peter Berg will direct and Taylor Sheridan will write the live-action film based on the popular video game franchise.

I can’t believe it’s finally happening! We’ve been hearing rumors about a Call of Duty movie for ages, and it’s official now! Paramount and Activision are teaming up to make it, which is huge news for any fan like me. It’s awesome to think one of the biggest video game franchises is getting the Hollywood treatment.

The duo previously collaborated on hits like Hell or High Water and Wind River

Peter Berg, the director of films like The Mosquito Bowl, Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day, will be writing, directing, and producing a new movie with his team at Film 47. Joining him is Taylor Sheridan, known for creating Yellowstone, 1923, and Sicario, who will also write and produce. David Glasser will serve as a producer on the project as well.

Taylor Sheridan and Jeff Bridges have collaborated successfully in the past, notably on the films Wind River and Hell or High Water, which received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay. They’re anticipated to bring that same realistic and intense style to their new project.

Since the movie was first announced last month, there have been many updates about the people involved. There was talk of director Steven Spielberg, who’s been a fan of the series for years, potentially taking the helm, but those plans didn’t materialize.
