Story Highlights

  • COD Mobile developers confirm the player level cap will increase from 400 to 450.
  • The new large-scale Battle Royale map teased in Inside CODM Ep. 1 is still in development.
  • Ranked Multiplayer map rotations will receive changes based on community feedback.

The developers of Call of Duty: Mobile recently shared updates about the game’s future in the second episode of Inside CODM. Building on the first episode’s announcement of a new, large Battle Royale map, Episode 2 featured Activision’s Head of COD Mobile, Jeff Gullett, answering community questions. He was joined this time by popular CODM creator, Parker The Slayer.

We talked about a lot of important things in this episode, like how players advance, updates to Battle Royale, changes to the maps used in Ranked Multiplayer, new skin options, and some upcoming improvements to make the game even better. Here’s a summary of what we covered.

Call of Duty: Mobile Inside CODM Ep. 2: All details explained

The increase of Level Cap to 450

Players have been discussing how to improve the game’s progression for a while, and the developers have addressed their concerns. Many long-time players have hit the current level cap of 400 and wondered if COD Mobile would bring back a system like the classic Prestige system, allowing them to reset and continue leveling up.

Jeff mentioned the team has been talking about adding a system similar to ‘Prestige,’ but they don’t have any specifics to announce yet. He did say players will soon be able to increase their level from 400 to 450, which should give everyone a good goal to aim for.

New Battle Royale map development continues

The new Battle Royale map was first teased during the first episode of Inside Call of Duty: Mobile. Although the developers didn’t share any specifics about the map itself, they did confirm that work on it is still in progress.

Jeff shared that the team is continuing work on a brand new, large map and also making improvements to the existing Battle Royale mode. As previously discussed, we’ll see the complete unveiling during the game’s anniversary event later this year.

COD Mobile Ranked map rotation changes are being planned

As a fan, I’m really excited to hear they’re talking about changing how maps work in Ranked! Apparently, Jeff shared that the team is figuring out a new way to pick maps for ranked play, and they actually want our input this time. That sounds awesome – hopefully, we’ll get more say in which maps we’re playing!

The game’s creators are teaming up with the Call of Duty: Mobile social media team to gather player opinions via polls. This will help determine which maps players would like to have available in future Ranked play.

Mil-Sim skins will continue alongside creative designs

Players have requested more authentic, military-themed items in the game, like operators and character outfits inspired by real-world tactical simulations (milsim). The developers were asked about adding this kind of content.

So Jeff told us that they’re still going to mix up the look of COD Mobile with different styles – you know, everything from super realistic military stuff to sci-fi, anime, and whatever else they come up with. He said we won’t be getting a whole season dedicated just to realistic milsim designs anytime soon, but don’t worry! They’re still planning on releasing those kinds of cool, authentic skins and items regularly through Battle Passes, lucky draws, and special events.

COD Mobile Season 9 Vampires vs Werewolves revealed

The highly anticipated Season 9 update, titled ‘Vampires vs Werewolves,’ is on its way to Call of Duty Mobile! This season is special because players got to vote on the theme, characters, and weapon designs, thanks to the ‘Your Season, Your Vote’ initiative, as confirmed by CODM Art Director Scott Shepherd.

Players chose ‘Vampires vs Werewolves’ as their favorite theme, along with the operators Pack Commander and Moonlight Vengeance. They also picked the Wolven Moonlight CX-9 and Cantus Rubra as their preferred weapon skins. This Halloween season is planned for release in October 2026.
