Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets Infected Mode and Nuketown Map This Week

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets Infected Mode and Nuketown Map This Week

As a seasoned Call of Duty: Black Ops fanatic who has witnessed the evolution of this iconic series since its inception, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia at the news that Infected mode and Nuketown are making a comeback in Black Ops 6. The Infected mode, with its frenetic pace and team-versus-zombies gameplay, has always been one of my personal favorites, and the return of the classic Nuketown map is the cherry on top.

Today, Treyarch revealed that they are introducing the Infected game mode into Call of Duty: Black Ops VI, and it’s happening right now! Later this week, the iconic Nuketown map will also be included in the series.

The launch is just the start, as stated in a post from the studio on Twitter/X. Tomorrow, it’s time for the Infected to play. Starting this Friday, Nuketown will be joining the festivities.

The multiplayer party mode called “Infected” pits a group of human players against hordes of zombies controlled by other players. Their goal is to survive while these zombies try to spread infection among the opposing team. If you get infected, you’ll start attacking your former allies instead.

Ever since it was introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops back in 2010, I’ve always found myself drawn to Nuketown – a compact multiplayer map that’s brimming with nostalgia. It’s a faithful recreation of American nuclear test sites from the 1950s, complete with cardboard cutouts of people and various props, making it feel like a piece of history brought to life in the game.

The sixth installment of Call of Duty: Black Ops, namely Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. Over the weekend, it received its initial update; for details about this patch, you can check out the provided information.

Launch was only the beginning.

Tomorrow, the Infected are coming to play. Nuketown joins the party on Friday.

LFG.
