Caedrel, Los Ratones are permabanning toxic chatters

Caedrel is encouraging the rats to snitch on toxic behavior.

The team Los Ratones and its leader, Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont, are receiving recognition for their effective management of toxicity within their fanbase. Known for harboring negative and harmful remarks, League of Legends is no stranger to such behavior. However, the stringent control that LR exercises over this conduct has been applauded by its extensive community as a necessary measure.

Los Ratones to permaban toxic chat-hoppers

Babkis, Caedrel’s moderator, posted the announcement on Reddit.

Engaging in disruptive and harmful behavior by entering the conversations of other teams and players during live streams, and spreading negativity, hate, or toxicity, is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. We will collaborate with moderators of our opponents during each scrim block to identify such individuals. Those who choose to act in this manner will face immediate and permanent bans within Caedrel’s chat, as well as the chats of other members of LR.

He’s grateful that most of the LR fanbase has been positive and appreciative towards both their team and opposing teams, but as the community expands, it’s inevitable that some negative individuals may appear. Babkis also urged other fans to contact any moderators if they notice anyone spreading harmful or negative conversations.

The majority of people responding to the post appeared to concur that this move is a positive one for Los Ratones. One Reddit user commented, “This is one of those rare instances where informing will be accepted.

The team is experiencing a substantial impact due to the toxic environment. Notably, players Muhammed “Agurin” Kocak and Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen have been subjected to harmful chat messages. If Los Ratones continue to be associated with such toxic behavior, they might find it difficult to attract scrim partners, as others may prefer to avoid being targeted by negative actions from the team members referred to as “rats.

In response to this, Caedrel stated, “The Los Ratones fanbase has no room for such individuals whatsoever.” He further mentioned that he and the moderators would make every effort to control the fanbase and offered a sincere apology to players, streamers, organizations who had either played with or interacted with LR, and encountered toxic behavior.

The Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) was recently won by the team known as Los Ratones, securing their place in the EU Masters starting from mid-March.

The League community reacts to LR banhammer

In his live broadcast, Caedrel criticized the toxicity issue and how management handled it. However, Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines expressed praise for their actions on a platform known as X, formerly Twitter.

As a gamer, I believe Caedrel would have made an excellent leader for League of Legends Esports. His approach fosters fan support while eliminating mental fatigue. He truly knows how to build an authentic gaming community and consistently conducts himself with grace and professionalism. Kudos to @Caedrel!

As a gamer immersed in League of Legends (LoL), I’ve noticed that opinions on X have been split. However, anything that helps curb toxic behavior within our gaming community is long overdue and much-needed.
