This track-focused version would significantly surpass the standard model’s power output of 1,287 horsepower. The existing U9 produces 1,287 hp, but documents submitted to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology suggest that the track edition will incorporate four electric motors – one for each wheel – with each motor capable of approximately 744 hp, resulting in a combined output of 3,019 hp.

The filings mention that the U9 Track Edition will sport a squared-off stance, equipping 325/35/20 tires on each corner, and boasting improved aerodynamic elements, weighing approximately 2,630 kg (5,798 lbs). Although the exterior design remains mostly untouched, the enhancements are geared towards optimizing track performance. As of now, BYD has not confirmed whether or when the high-performance U9 will commence production; however, if it does, it could establish a new standard for all-electric sports cars.
