Disney’s popular ride, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, in the Magic Kingdom, ceased operations on August 4, 2025 for a substantial renovation. This move signifies another beloved attraction temporarily out of service, as part of ongoing improvements in Frontierland and Tomorrowland.

Disney Imagineering has submitted applications for Icarus Exhibits, which plan to put backstage setup components in place.

This closure joins other major shutdowns and modifications to existing attractions in the park.

Notably, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ceased operation on January 6, 2025, for its most significant renovation in years. It is anticipated to reopen in the year 2026. Furthermore, the Walt Disney World Railroad has temporarily switched to shuttle service, traveling between Main Street USA and Fantasyland in both directions.
