Busy Philipps puts on a stylish display in chic summer dress as she enjoys a stroll with boyfriend Jon Kasbe in New York City

As a seasoned observer of the lives of celebrities, I can’t help but admire Busy Philipps for her unapologetic honesty and resilience in the face of personal challenges. Her journey, much like a rollercoaster ride, has been filled with ups and downs, but what truly sets her apart is her courage to confront her flaws, learn from them, and grow as a person.

On the weekends in New York City, actress Busy Philipps was seen leaving with her latest companion, Jon Kasbe, who happens to be her new boyfriend.

Last Sunday, the 45-year-old actress donned a stylish summer outfit while going for a charming, daytime walk with a younger Emmy-awarded director, who is 11 years her junior.

Her outing with Kasbe takes place approximately three months following their affectionate walk together, marking her first publicly acknowledged romance since finalizing her divorce.

Previously, the actress who played a prominent role in Freaks and Geeks had been married to movie director Marc Silverstein for 14 years. They revealed in May 2022 that they were parting ways after all this time.

The former couple are parents to Birdie Leigh, 15, and Cricket Pearl, 10.

During their weekend get-out, the actress from Dawson’s Creek was seen in a relaxed style wearing a white, green, and checked midi dress featuring a square neckline and delicate shoulder straps. The dress had a checkered pattern.

She sported sandals with black leather straps and accessorized with a silver, red pendant necklace.

She wore a pair of magenta-pink sunglasses atop her head, while her strawberry-blond tresses boasted pink accents as well.

She had a checkerboard-patterned phone case in black and white, and she was always seen with a sling bag made of woven material over her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Kasbe was carrying a tote bag and wore an effortlessly stylish ensemble himself.

He wore a dark navy linen button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a pair of white shorts and light brown, suede clogs.

Two years following the announcement of her divorce from Silverstein (made on her Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best podcast in May 2022), she has entered a romantic relationship with Kasbe, who is a filmmaker based in Australia and India.

After being married for 14 years, she revealed that they had chosen to live separately, yet remain committed to jointly raising their children.

She admitted that it has been quite some time since Marc and herself were apart, and everyone in their respective families, as well as their friends, are aware of this situation.

She told us that they parted ways back in February 2021, and since then, they’ve been figuring out the best way to announce it publicly.

Marc and I had such a difficult time discussing this topic initially, that the mere thought of making any formal statement about it was overwhelming, causing us great distress. However, we have come to understand that this is a process, a journey we must take.

She explained further, “We’ve managed to keep our cherished children’s privacy by keeping them away from the public eye.”

During their marriage, the couple welcomed Birdie and Cricket together.

Indeed, our bond is incredibly strong, nurtured by mutual love. We’ve been blessed with wonderful children who enrich our lives even more. Our relationship, in turn, functions smoothly due to many positive aspects that we share.

2018 saw Courtney Cox, famously known for her role in Cougar Town, disclose in her autobiography that her dear friend Michelle Williams rescued her from the verge of a divorce following an emotional entanglement with her husband.

In her memoir, “This Will Only Hurt A Little,” Busy openly admitted that her partnership with Silverstein faced difficulties, particularly after the birth of their first child, prompting her to seek solace and understanding from another person.

In a friendly relationship, there was another father figure whom I knew. We often shared meals, exchanged texts, and had lengthy conversations over the phone.

‘Honestly, I had a crush on him. I like him. Maybe I even loved him? He clearly liked me too.’

The actress expressed that she felt neglected and let down by her screenwriter spouse during their marriage, going so far as to label him ineffective and stating that he failed to show affection when their child, Birdie, was born.

However, it was Williams who asked her to consider working on her marriage.

“Williams advised that it might be tough for about two years, but after that, life would settle into a new routine. However, if it’s possible to maintain your family unit, she believes it’s worth considering.”

In a disclosure, it’s made clear that the pair subsequently opted for therapy, with a key element being that Silverstein underwent one-on-one therapy sessions.

She said her therapist had warned her, ‘Listen. Divorce f**** up children. It just does.’

During that period, Phillips acknowledges she was still communicating with her partner, as she put it: ‘Yes, I understand. That aspect is quite unfortunate. I apologize. Truly, I do.’

After Silverstein apologized, things eventually turned around for the parents of two, as they no longer felt isolated or abandoned, having been apart for so many years.

Philipps noted and documented: “Marc experienced what appears to be a breakthrough, and when I eventually confessed about the other man, he surprisingly showed understanding towards it.”

He underwent a transformation that was noticeable to more than just myself; his interactions with others significantly shifted after this event.
