Actor James Marsters, known for playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has at last spoken up about the forthcoming reboot of the popular series.
Earlier this month, it’s been officially announced that the cherished show, initially broadcasted from 1997 to 2003, is making a comeback, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her famous character as Buffy Summers on-screen once again.
Marsters, known for portraying the British punk vampire Spike in the original series, has finally spoken up about the latest news, but emphasized that he couldn’t reveal much to ensure the project turns out as excellent as possible.

To start off, let me address an obvious issue: discussing the new version of ‘Buffy’ isn’t something I feel comfortable doing at this time. This is what he mentioned in a video he uploaded on his Instagram account.
Apologies for any disappointment, but since I want our project to reach its full potential, I find myself unable to share any updates at this moment. I’ll keep quiet for now.
Though he didn’t definitively say if he would participate, Marsters expressed his enthusiasm about the revival.
He expressed that, much like everyone else, he is thrilled about delving deeper into Buffy Summers’ quest to save the world, as he believes this story is crucial in our times. To contribute, however, he plans to take action by not acting.
Last week, Gellar expressed an emotional sentiment about the show’s comeback, stating that it would be for the benefit of all the devoted fans.
She’s always paid attention to what fans have wanted regarding a return to the world of Buffy, and she heard your yearning for it, but she couldn’t make it happen unless she was certain we could pull it off effectively, she explained.
The journey so far has been extensive, and we’re still in the midst of it. Rest assured, we will move forward with the production of this show only when we are confident we can execute it perfectly. Let me assure you, we are making steady progress towards that goal.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer can be streamed in full on Disney+.
