BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook to star in a new Disney+ show. Meanwhile, Jin will carry Olympic torch

As a huge fan of BTS, I am absolutely thrilled to see Jimin and Jungkook embarking on a new adventure together through the travel show “Are You Sure?!” Their friendship and chemistry are undeniably captivating, and I can’t wait to witness them bonding over unforgettable moments in New York state, Jeju Island, and Sapporo.

K-pop titan BTS may be on hiatus, but its members are still booked and busy.

I’m thrilled to share that Jimin and Jungkook, affectionately known as “Jikook,” have some exciting news for their fans! Starting August 8, you can join them on Disney+ for their new travel show, “Are You Sure?!” This announcement was made official by BTS’ label Bighit Music and management company Hybe. Can’t wait to see where their adventures take us!

The eight-episode show takes viewers along on the journey of this dynamic duo as they discover the beauty of three distinct places: New York state, Jeju Island in South Korea, and Sapporo, Japan. Through their experiences, we’ll gain a greater understanding of Jimin and Jungkook’s remarkable connection and heartwarming friendship, forged through shared memorable moments.

In South Korea, male citizens between the ages of 18 and 28 must complete a minimum military or social service term of 18 months. The legislation was revised in 2020 to grant K-pop idols an extension until they turn 30 before enlisting. However, they do not receive an exemption from service like Olympic medalists and distinguished classical musicians do.

Despite the five-time Grammy-nominated group’s planned break, which is predicted to conclude in 2025 according to their management, individual band members have continued to put out successful solo tracks instead.

In the past, serving in the military resulted in a full disconnection from society for individuals, as shared by Jae Yoon Choi, the CEO and co-founder of K-pop creative agency KAI Media and retail hub Hello82, during an interview with The Times in December. Previously, military service had a significant impact on artists’ careers. However, this is no longer the case due to shortened services and easier preparations for joining and returning after military duty.

As a movie critic, I’m excited to share that BTS’ elder statesman, Jin, is back in action after completing his military service just last month. In true BTS fashion, he kicked off his return by embracing a throng of 1,000 fans during the group’s annual Festa celebrations, marking their 11th anniversary.

News reports mentioned that Kim Seok-jin, better known as Jin, is slated to join the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay. In this role as a South Korean torchbearer, he’ll contribute to disseminating the ideals of unity and tranquility.

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of the journey that is the Torch Relay for this year’s Olympics. It all started in the sacred city of Olympia, Greece, back in April. And now, it’s making its way through an amazing 65 French territories! Can you believe it? I can hardly contain my excitement as I follow the news and updates on this epic trek. The anticipation is building up with each passing day, and before we know it, we’ll be witnessing the opening ceremony on July 26. What an incredible experience it’s going to be!
