Michael Clarke is having trouble selling his large, luxurious house in the wealthy Sydney suburb of Vaucluse.
The former Australian cricket captain bought a large, five-bedroom house for around $13 million in 2021.
He listed it for sale in November last year, with an estimated price guide of around $20 million.
But real estate agent Bill Malouf from Highland Double Bay now believes the property will probably sell for about $18 million.
‘There has been an adjustment,’ Malouf told realestate.com.au.
Malouf pointed to global events as the reason for the struggling real estate market, acknowledging that ‘times are difficult’.
He said the current rise in fuel prices is absurd.
This large home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms and is situated in a highly desirable neighborhood in eastern Sydney.
The cricket star, age 44, has been updating the house, which has a European style, ever since he bought it in 2021.
According to Domain, real estate professionals first estimated the large 778-square-meter house would likely sell for more than $20 million.
This beautiful home offers a resort-like experience with plenty of space, spread across three floors. It features large living areas, an open and bright layout, a private pool, and a formal dining room – perfect for entertaining.
The property is accessed via a grand entranceway.
The kitchen and dining room on the main floor open up to a deck perfect for entertaining. Upstairs, you’ll find a lounge area and a relaxing verandah.
The primary bedroom occupies a full corner on the second floor and includes a walk-in closet, a private bathroom, and a balcony.
Additional highlights include a private cinema and study.
Clarke recently bought a stunning six-bedroom house for $20 million, located just a short distance from his former home.
This solid, three-story brick home is set back from the street with beautifully maintained gardens. It features six bathrooms, several living spaces, and parking for two vehicles.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this place! It last sold way back in 2007 for $7 million, which was already insane, but last year they were asking around $25 million! Everyone thought it was way too high. But then… then he – Clarke – swooped in and got it in a private deal! Can you even imagine? He just had to have it, and he got it! It’s all I’ve been thinking about ever since.
He previously offloaded his former matrimonial residence with ex-wife Kyly for $12 million.
Russell Crowe’s new neighbors are a mix of well-known personalities, including radio personality Kyle Sandilands and his wife Tegan, plus former Westpac CEO David Morgan and his wife, Ros Kelly, who previously served as a federal minister.
