Snoop Dogg, who DJed at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding, has spoken out in support of David and Victoria Beckham after their son publicly criticized them.
Last week, 26-year-old Brooklyn shared a six-page statement online detailing his ongoing family conflict and stating he doesn’t want to repair their relationship.
As a lifestyle observer, I’ve been following this story closely! DJ Fat Tony has come out in support of the hot sauce company owner’s recent online comments. But interestingly, Snoop Dogg – a close friend of Sir David – is standing by his father, the footballer. It’s a bit of a loyalty showdown, really, with everyone backing who they know best.
The rapper recently shared in an interview that he and David have been close friends for more than two decades.
‘We have seen each other’s kids grow up, and one thing about David is that he is a family man.
No matter how successful he’s become, family is the most important thing to him.
The musician told The Mirror he hopes Brooklyn will eventually reconnect with his heartbroken parents.
He pointed out that while no family is perfect, being a family constantly in the public spotlight adds extra pressure and makes things even harder.
‘I know the love that family has for each other – and in time, they are gonna work things out.’
Snoop Dogg and Sir David became friends in the 1990s, and they’ve supported each other’s families ever since.
They’ve worked together before, including an Adidas Originals campaign, and in 2007, Sir David made an appearance on Snoop Dogg’s reality show, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood, which aired on E!
Brooklyn Beckham publicly criticized his parents, Victoria and David, claiming they were attempting to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz. He also alleged that his mother behaved inappropriately while dancing with him at his wedding in 2022.
The couple’s wedding DJ, Fat Tony, shared details of what occurred at the reception during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning last Friday.
The 60-year-old described the incident as ‘very uncomfortable’ and said Nicola left the reception while crying.
According to Tony, a friend of the Beckhams, Marc Anthony was responsible for an awkward moment. He said Anthony invited Victoria to dance with her son and told the boy to ‘put your hands on your mother’s hips’.
He explained: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!
‘The word “inappropriate”, why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened.’
Tony explained that Marc Anthony was performing when he invited someone from the audience, Brooklyn, to join him on stage.
Brooklyn took the stage, and everyone immediately anticipated Nicola would be next to start the first dance. Then, Marc asked the most beautiful woman in the room to join him on stage, and called for Victoria to come up.
He shared that Brooklyn appeared deeply upset that he danced with Victoria instead of his wife, and Nicola was reportedly heartbroken, leaving the room in tears.
The DJ told the Daily Mail that Brooklyn once put his hands around his mother’s waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
‘The timing was inappropriate for me. It was meant to be a bride and groom’s moment,’ he told us.
‘It was in the heat of the moment.
‘Brooklyn left right after the dance. Nicola left the room and afterwards he went after her.
‘Nicola’s family left, they went after their daughter.
‘Marc Anthony is a latin singer. It was a love song.’
When questioned about touching Victoria’s hips, Brooklyn explained they were slow dancing, not something fast-paced like a samba. He said Victoria had her arms wrapped around his neck at the time.
He continued, explaining that Brooklyn is a friend and he feels terrible about how the situation has become so public.
Families have their issues, and I’m not sure how it all began. It’s possible someone will eventually speak out about it publicly.
He went on to explain that Brooklyn tends to get worked up over many issues, and even minor problems can seem huge because they draw so much attention.
I’m not taking sides, I’m simply clarifying what actually happened with the dance.
