Bronson Reed gives update on injury

2024 saw many wrestling performers experience significant milestones. In the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), “Big” Bronson Reed experienced a surge in popularity, which elevated his status within the roster. The defeat of Seth Rollins ignited enthusiasm for Reed, but it appears that this backing will be temporarily halted. Following WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Reed shared an update on his health and it seems he’ll need to take some time off.

In the match at WarGames, Reed leaped off the cage’s peak, intending to execute the Tsunami maneuver on Roman Reigns. However, CM Punk intervened, shielding Reigns, which resulted in Reed crashing through a table instead. The impact left Reed injured, requiring assistance to exit the ring. On January 5th, he shared an update about his condition via social media.

Reed clarified on Twitter: “I’d like to set the record straight about some rumors. Instead of an ankle fracture or minor injury as reported in dirt sheets, I actually shattered my talus bone completely in half. It required surgical repair using screws and the removal of fragments. Additionally, some bone marrow from my hip was used to aid healing in my foot.

He’d go on to update on when fans can hope to see him next.

I regret to inform you that I won’t be attending the Raw Netflix Premiere. There won’t be any unexpected excitement there, and sadly, I also can’t make it to [Wrestle]Mania this year. In the meantime, stay connected with me on social media. You see, I’ve suffered a significant injury, had major surgery, and am dealing with some serious after-effects. It’s not just a simple fracture.

2024 saw Reed making significant strides towards winning a singles title in 2025. However, it seems that this prospect is no longer possible due to his unfortunate injury. The medical team’s focus now is ensuring his health and recovery. A shift to WWE SmackDown could have provided a fresh environment for Reed, given the robust roster of villains both in the main event and mid-card on Monday Night Raw.

Wishing for Reed’s swift and complete recuperation, free of any hindrances that might prevent him from living a regular, energetic life. If you’re looking for the latest updates and perspectives on pro wrestling, keep tuned to Daily DDT.
