Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is Out Now With a Launch Trailer
As an old-school adventurer who’s journeyed through countless digital landscapes, I must say, the return of George Stobbart and his globe-trotting escapades in “Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged” has me positively giddy! The vibrant reimagining of the original line art by Don Bluth layout artists, coupled with the meticulous redrawing and reanimation of 30,000 character sprites, is nothing short of breathtaking.
Today, Revolution Software has unveiled “Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged,” marking the return of the beloved 1996 point-and-click adventure game. In this installment, players join protagonist George Stobbart as he partners with journalist Nico Collard on an exciting worldwide expedition.
Travel to a variety of captivating destinations, ranging from the cobblestone streets of Paris, the towering Syrian mountains, to the sun-kissed coastlines of Spain. These locations feature breathtaking landscapes, skillfully reimagined by artists who worked on Don Bluth’s original line art layouts.
You have the freedom to toggle between the original and Reforged graphics at your convenience, with the traditional mode maintaining the authentic gameplay feel. Additionally, a ‘story mode’ has been introduced, subtly guiding you through puzzles to minimize instances of being stuck or annoyed.
Today, the revamped Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC for $29.99/€29.99/£24.99. A Nintendo Switch version will be released in October.
