Brody Jenner Finally Forgives Caitlyn Jenner After Years of Feeling Abandoned

Brody Jenner is coming clean about his current relationship with his parent Caitlyn Jenner.

In the latest installment of his reality show, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, airing on Wednesday, he shared insights about his past complex bond with the 75-year-old ex-Olympian who revealed her identity as a transgender woman in 2015.

Initially, Brody expressed his intention to be a completely different type of father than how Caitlyn had been. Later on, Brody disclosed that their relationship has improved significantly and is currently in a better state.

He occasionally noticed him back then – let me clarify, this person I’m referring to was a part of his life intermittently. It’s important to note that during his upbringing, Caitlyn (who is called ‘dad’ by her children) wasn’t around much.

At the age of 41, Brody remembered his mother, Linda Thompson, sharing with him that he used to pen notes saying, “Dad, why don’t you call me on my birthday?” as a child.

However, it appears that their relationship has improved somewhat, despite the fact that he previously expressed feelings of invasiveness and insincerity about Caitlyn’s public gender transition in another episode of Special Forces.

He expressed that Caitlyn had just given him a genuine apology – a first in his lifetime. To put it simply, she said ‘I’m sorry for not being there,’ which truly touched him because it carried significant weight.

A spokesperson for Caitlyn, the ex-decathlete, shared with People that “Caitlyn maintains a good connection with Brody and his fiancée Tia.” However, they chose not to disclose any details about previous private conversations between mother and son.

In July 2023, Brody became a dad to Honey Raye Jenner. He shared this joyous moment with a professional surfer, and he drew inspiration from his relationship with Caitlyn to navigate his own journey as a father.

He said, ‘Growing up without Bruce by my side and her undergoing the transition, it was challenging to be her son. However, now I have a lovely little daughter instead, and I no longer live just for myself; I live for her.’

However, he harbored hope for his future alongside Honey and his renewed focus on family, believing it would help him become a more devoted father.

He stated that instead of being like my father who was always there for me, I will choose a completely different approach,” he declared.

In his words, ‘My mom, Thompson, was simply amazing. Unfortunately, my father, Bruce, wasn’t present a lot during my upbringing. They parted ways, and later, he encountered Kris Jenner, who is now known as Caitlyn. With Kris, he had daughters Kendall and Kylie. Interestingly, this isn’t the first family for the woman Bruce met; they also had children together.’

Brody’s distant manner towards his half-siblings stemmed from feelings of being left behind when Caitlyn, during her filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, seemed to prioritize other relationships over their bond.

But over time he came to understand the struggles that she was facing behind the scenes.

Brody stated that the individual was dealing with personal challenges during a time of transition, and much of this was broadcasted on television. There were instances that were caught on camera which felt intrusive and didn’t seem authentic to him.

He mentioned that it was as if a burden had been lifted when he discovered that Caitlyn was transitioning, as certain parts of their past became clearer, and he gained insight into why Caitlyn hadn’t been present throughout those years.

Brody acknowledged that when one becomes a parent, a small amount of accountability is required, as the actions taken have an impact on their children too. He explained that this understanding has motivated him to change his ways and be more involved and present in his daughter’s life.

Earlier, Brody had shown signs of improving his relationship with Caitlyn, as they were both present at Honey’s first birthday celebration, along with Tia, their relatives, and Thompson.
