Broadchurch creator reveals why the show had to end
Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall has revealed why the show had to end after three seasons.
During this year’s Hay Festival, the individual previously responsible for the TV station confessed that they held a key role as showrunner for “Doctor Who” during Jodie Whittaker’s tenure.
He offered an explanation as to why his latest book, titled “Death at the White Hart”, shares a location with Broadchurch, being set in Dorset.

As quoted by The Independent, Chibnall said: “I think the dissonance is what’s interesting.
One reason I chose not to continue with “Broadchurch” was because I wanted to avoid the series transforming into something resembling New York or “Midsomer Murders.
It seems crucial to emphasize the scarcity of severe crimes. This aspect appears significantly influential on the development of characters and the police force.
In essence, he went on to say, “It’s all about understanding human nature, isn’t it? The genre serves as a lens through which we view humanity. You were delving into these extraordinary situations, which is exactly what you were investigating.
In March, Chibnall’s first novel, titled “Death at the White Hart,” was published in the United Kingdom. It is set to be released in the United States next month.
In March, ITV announced a TV adaptation. It will go into production next year and air on ITV1.
Chibnall also has an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery coming to Netflix.
Earlier, it was mentioned that the author has no intention of ever coming back to “Doctor Who”, asserting that his time on the show has been definitively ended by drawing a firm boundary line.
All episodes of Broadchurch can be streamed via ITVX.
