Broadchurch boss addresses possibility of season 4: “Is there another story?”

The popular ITV crime drama Broadchurch ended in 2017 after three seasons, but people are still talking about it. With continued public interest, creator Chris Chibnall is now being asked if a fourth season might be possible.

In an interview with Radio Times, Chris Chibnall revealed he occasionally considers the possibility of continuing the show, but generally believes its run has come to an end.

He explained that he sometimes wonders if there’s a deeper story behind things, something he’s considered over time.

He added that it’s a real privilege when a show becomes successful, especially unexpectedly. He still feels that way about his show, Born and Bred, which became a regular Sunday night favorite for four seasons.

It’s important not to push too hard or assume you know what the audience wants. You always have to earn their attention, and their preferences can change. Simply repeating what worked before doesn’t guarantee success in the future.

Sometimes we achieve something amazing, and it’s best to simply appreciate it rather than trying to repeat it years later.
