Brittany Hockley reveals her wedding was ‘fake’ and the shocking moment her husband was ‘denied entry’ into Australia
Last week, the former “Bachelor” contestant Brittany Hockley tied the knot with her soccer player partner, Ben Siegrist, in a three-day celebration held on a cliffside in Bali.
However, there’s a small legal issue regarding the impressive wedding ceremony – the union isn’t officially recognized as a legal marriage.
Brittany, 37, revealed the shock news to her KIIS FM’s The Pick Up listeners on Tuesday.
Laura Byrne, Brittany’s longest-standing friend and co-host, announced that Brittany has recently tied the knot in beautiful Bali.
Although it’s certainly impressive, let’s discuss its aspects. However, it’s important to note that at this point, it lacks the force of law.

‘It’s a big show really,’ the bride admitted, joking that the wedding ‘was fake’.
To put it simply, my husband Ben is entirely Swiss but resides in Italy. As for me, I’m an Australian living in the same country. Our marriage took place in Bali, but due to various technical complexities, our legal union wasn’t possible there. So, we plan to formalize the legal aspect of our marriage right here in Australia.
‘The paperwork gets signed shortly – but let’s not focus on that.’
The wedding ceremony for the couple was held at Pandawa Cliff Estate, offering a breathtaking and enchanting backdrop with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, creating an atmosphere that is both dramatic and romantic.
On her wedding day, the 37-year-old woman looked radiant, as if she were blushing all over. She gracefully walked down the aisle wearing a gown designed by Steven Khalil, complete with a strapless design and an intricate lace corset that added drama to the long train.
Brittany and Ben shared a couple of joyful photos from their wedding with their followers on Instagram, giving them a peek into their special day.
One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss.
The second showed the happy couple beaming as they held hands and hugged each other close.

‘From the very first day, it was you,’ Brittany captioned the images.
‘No matter which ocean we’re apart, you are always there. For the rest of our journey together, you remain constant. On 4.6.2025, Mr and Mrs Siegrist, that’s my sentiment for you, beautifully expressed with love hearts.’
Additionally, Brittany disclosed on Tuesday that the couple encountered another obstacle when they went back to Australia to commence their married life.
‘What I will say is [Ben] almost didn’t join us,’ Brittany said.
‘We got to the airport late last night and [the airport worker] was like, “visa, sir?”
He said, “What do you take me for, I didn’t possess a visa to access Australia.” To which she responded, “It turns out that you can’t enter the country without one.
Laura clarified that Ben frequently travels to Australia under a work visa, arranged by his football team. However, it seems he may have been unaware that he was on a specific visa.
‘So, he’s been coming back and forth and that visa expired,’ she said.
As I was about to walk down the aisle, just 20 minutes before our wedding ceremony, I found myself in an unexpected predicament: my groom had forgotten his pants! So, I called out for him.
‘Ben decided to wear his wedding suit the week before to someone else’s wedding,’ she sighed.
Finding a suit for his big day was the only task left for the footballer regarding the extravagant wedding.

Locating a suit for the special occasion was the footballer’s remaining duty in preparing for the grand wedding.

The footballer had just one task left before the grand wedding: finding a suit for the big day.
‘Yes, my pants shrunk,’ he confessed sheepishly on the podcast.
Brittany told Ben to take his suit to a dry cleaner in Bali at least three days prior to the wedding.
Instead of remembering to clean his suit pants himself, he haphazardly spent cash at the eleventh hour for a quick cleanup, resulting in them resembling jeans with spandex characteristics.
‘He couldn’t get the zipper up,’ Brittany said with a laugh.
‘Which is not ideal when your legs are the size of my legs,’ Ben added.
However, everything turned out well. No one seemed to notice. It’s unclear to me how you obtained this information since it was highly confidential among my groomsmen.
Indeed, I had a few safety pins tucked away in my trousers, but rest assured, nothing untoward happened. No one was harmed, and no one else seems to have noticed – apart from you, Laura.
The Life Uncut podcast announced Brittany’s engagement to Ben, 33, last year.
Previously known as “the unattached host,” Brittany, had been in a long-distance relationship with Ben for eight months before he proposed.
The duo met in November 2022 on the celebrity dating app Raya.
During that moment, it so happened that Celtic Football Club, based in Glasgow, was competing against Sydney FC on Australian soil.
