Britney Spears has entered a rehab facility to treat substance abuse issues.
A representative for the singer confirmed to Us Weekly that she has entered rehab. According to a source at TMZ, she decided to seek treatment after those close to her encouraged her to do so.
‘She realizes she hit rock bottom,’ a source told the outlet of the Grammy-winning pop star, 44.
According to TMZ sources, Britney Spears has struggled with substance use, including alcohol and Adderall, for many years.
Britney Spears entered a treatment facility approximately one month after her March 4th arrest in Ventura County, California, related to driving under the influence.
According to officials, the singer, known for her hit song “Oops!…I Did It Again,” seemed to be driving while impaired by both drugs and alcohol.
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Spears for further comment.
Britney Spears considered her ongoing legal issues related to a DUI when she decided to enter a 30-day rehabilitation program, according to a source who spoke with TMZ.
According to a source, she’s intentionally acting this way to impress the judge and show she’s committed to the process.
