Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline accuses her of calling ex Justin Timberlake on night before wedding

In a recent interview, Britney Spears’ former husband claims she rekindled a relationship with a previous partner just before their wedding.

Kevin Federline, Britney Spears’ ex-husband who was married to her from 2004 to 2007, recently told Entertainment Tonight that his future wife allegedly called her former boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, the night before their wedding.

Britney Spears, now 43, and Justin Timberlake, 44, had split up in 2002, following Spears’ admission to having an affair with Wade Robson, a choreographer they both worked with.

Federline, 47, alleged that Spears was sobbing as she spoke to the NSYNC singer.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s teams for a statement, but they haven’t heard back yet.

The new claim from Kevin Federline coincides with the release of his memoir, ‘You Thought You Knew.’ In the book, he alleges that Britney Spears reportedly frightened their two sons on several nights by appearing at their bedroom doors while holding a knife.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, claims Britney Spears called Justin Timberlake at a strange time while they were staying in a private bungalow at the Fairmont hotel in Santa Monica.

But he allegedly heard a conversation his future wife was having that concerned him.

I was so confused when I heard her sounding upset! Honestly, I figured she was probably chatting with her mom, maybe getting cold feet about something. But then she told me… she was actually on the phone with Justin! I nearly lost it. It was just… everything. I couldn’t believe it was *him* she was talking to, and that she was upset enough to be talking to him in the first place. It was insane!

Federline was surprised to hear the singer’s name mentioned and at first wondered if he had heard incorrectly, thinking it couldn’t be Spears.

He remembered telling his partner, “We don’t have to go through with the wedding if we don’t want to.”

He added, ‘I didn’t care if we got married or not.’

Federline explained that Spears told him she was simply trying to express her last thoughts to Timberlake, hoping to resolve any lingering issues between them.

Spears’ former husband remembered being shocked and thinking, ‘Seriously? You choose to do this the night before our wedding?’

He wasn’t sure if he completely believed what Britney said, but he chose to think she was simply moving on with her life.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline got married on September 18, 2004, only five months after they first started dating.

As someone who looks at relationships a lot, I can tell you that when a conversation feels really off – like a major warning sign – most people pick up on it right away. Looking back, even Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight and, importantly, Kevin Federline himself, now recognize this particular conversation as a huge red flag.

‘Man, you’re telling me,’ he replied, before defending himself for being ‘super young’ at the time.

‘I was so madly in love at that moment,’ Federline added.

Despite their marriage, he said he still sensed that she hadn’t fully moved on from her relationship with the singer of “Cry Me A River.”

Federline believes it was natural for her to still have feelings for Timberlake, as he was her first love.

Honestly, trying to even *think* about what it must have been like for her… it’s impossible. And Justin! They were just kids, teenagers thrown into this crazy, worldwide thing, and I just… I can’t fathom it. But you could *tell* they really cared about each other, even then. It was so obvious, and it breaks my heart thinking about how young they were dealing with all of that.

Britney Spears’ representative told Us Weekly that Kevin Federline and others are once again taking advantage of her, especially now that he’s no longer receiving child support payments.

She’s completely focused on her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and making sure they’re okay despite all the media attention.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline had their first son, Sean Preston, in September 2005. Less than a year later, in September 2006, they welcomed their second son, Jayden James.

Just two months after her son Jayden was born, Britney Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline. However, her relationship with them has continued to be difficult, especially after an interview with 60 Minutes Australia in September 2022. In that interview, her ex-husband and their sons shared concerns about Spears’ mental health and explained why they had supported the conservatorship.

Spears subsequently lashed out on social media and accused her sons of ‘undermining’ her.

She suggested they were upset about child support ending soon, questioning if their difficult behavior stemmed from knowing the payments would stop in two years and they wouldn’t receive any further financial support.

This news follows a recent excerpt from Kevin Federline’s upcoming memoir published by The New York Times. In it, he alleges that his sons were once woken up at night to find their mother, Britney Spears, standing in their doorway holding a knife.

According to Federline, they would occasionally wake up in the middle of the night to find her standing in the doorway, silently watching them. She’d ask, “Oh, you’re awake?” while holding a knife, then simply turn and walk away without saying anything.

Federline also wrote about his growing concerns about his ex after she began behaving erratically. 

Federline expressed his worry that Britney Spears was heading down a path with no turning back. ‘Honestly, things with Britney feel like they’re moving too fast towards a point of no return,’ he explained in the book.

Federline admits things are clearly not right. He feels time is running out, and a crisis is looming if the situation doesn’t improve. He’s most worried about his sons being left to deal with the fallout.

The claim that Kevin Federline alleged Britney Spears threatened him with a knife echoes a similar story from her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears’s 2022 memoir. Jamie Lynn wrote about a time when she said Britney, seemingly frightened, locked them in a room while holding a knife, but Britney dismissed the story as false and outlandish.
