Steve Coogan, the well-known British comedy actor famous for characters like Alan Partridge, is joining the cast of the popular drama series The White Lotus for its fourth season. He’ll be acting alongside Caleb Jonte Edwards, who is known for his role in Black Snow.
The White Lotus, an acclaimed HBO series created by Mike White, explores the lives of guests and employees at a luxurious resort hotel. Each season features a different group of people in a new and exotic location.
After being filmed in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand, the fourth season will be set in France. The beautiful Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez will be the primary filming location.

Alexander Ludwig, known for his role in Vikings, and AJ Michalka from The Goldbergs have joined the cast. Reports suggest Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina (from The Mindy Project) are also in talks to star, but these additions haven’t been officially confirmed (according to Deadline).
Currently, we don’t know which roles the actors will play or what the show will be about – those details are still being kept secret.
Following fan responses to the third season, the show’s creator, writer, and director, White, defended the show’s pace in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He responded to criticism that the season was moving too slowly, noting that some viewers were already saying, ‘It’s too slow! Let’s go, let’s go! Nothing’s happening!’
According to White, the first season lacked significant plot development. He explained that it mostly showed characters simply going about their daily lives – eating meals, for example – while the music created a sense of unease and foreshadowed future conflict.
During the interview, White noted that viewers have come to expect a certain pattern from the show, explaining that many now anticipate each season focusing on the mistreatment of hotel staff by wealthy guests.
Some critics say the show has ironically become what it originally set out to mock. Now, everyone seems to have a different expectation for The White Lotus. Honestly, I’m just a writer trying to make sense of things, like everyone else.
