British popstar hot off her Glastonbury gig reveals she was once BANNED from all Sainsbury’s stores across the UK over shoplifting
British pop sensation PinkPantheress admitted that, in the past, she was prohibited from every Sainsbury’s outlet nationwide due to an incident involving shoplifting.
Last month at Glastonbury, the captivating 24-year-old singer-songwriter named Victoria Beverley Walker left spectators spellbound.
However, during the launch of her latest single “Illegal,” PinkPantheress disclosed that she was banned from all Sainsbury’s stores when she was younger.
Discussing with GQ, she shared an incident where her friend once pilfered a Drumstick lollipop from a Sainsbury’s shop. Consequently, both her and her companion received a ban.
The celebrity asserted that she hadn’t stolen anything, yet was still prohibited, which she found excessive, especially considering the penalty for merely snatching a Drumstick warranted a nationwide restriction.
‘My friend stole a Drumstick from Sainsbury’s, but that actually is illegal,’ PinkPantheress said.

However, I recall pondering internally, “And yet we were punished – we faced a tough time. I was penalized, yet I didn’t take anything that wasn’t mine.
At that point in our lives, getting banned for just one Drumstick seemed excessive to me. This nationwide ban from all Sainsbury’s stores was quite a punishment.
Following the cancellation of PinkPantheress’s intimate Glastonbury performance, she was upgraded to a bigger stage instead.
PinkPantheress was set to perform a 30-minute set on the Levels stage in Silver Hayes at 11 pm on Thursday night.
However, an unexpected alteration in the original timetable resulted in Roza Terenzi performing from 10:30 PM to midnight, sandwiched between a DJ set by Confidence Man and Marie Davidson.
On Friday at 7:30 PM, PinkPantheress didn’t let down her fans who adore her; rather, she captivated them when she performed on the Woodies Stage instead.
On Reddit, keen-eyed fans applauded the move, feeling that the celeb’s fame was overwhelming for the initial plan, likening it to an overcrowded event. They described it as a situation that would have been ‘jam-packed’.
‘It appeared to be on the verge of colliding dangerously,’ or ‘This was clearly foreseeable, so why make the reservation in the first place?’

It’s usually better if we avoid presenting anything widely recognized or popular on stage, particularly on Thursdays, as it often leads to trouble.
‘Yeah everyone knew it would be carnage from the moment it was announced.’
According to a representative from Glastonbury, the decision to cancel the show wasn’t due to concerns about overcrowding; instead, the artist unfortunately became unable to deliver the scheduled performance.
‘But she is still playing her Woodsies set.’
Pink Pantheress gained popularity on TikTok and achieved success in the UK music scene, reaching the top 10 in both their singles and albums charts, and even receiving nominations for three Brit Awards.
Born in Bath, England in 2001, she is the child of a statistics professor and a civil servant from Kenya. Her father, Stephen, was employed in the mathematics department at Bath’s university at that time. In 2022, a prominent diplomat labeled this singer as ‘upscale.’
In 2010, they – Elza, her mother, Christopher, her older brother – relocated to Kent as a family. Their new home was a townhouse in Canterbury, valued at approximately £500,000.

During her time there, she went to Barton Court Grammar School, a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence. Additionally, she worked part-time, stacking shelves at the local Co-op supermarket.
Her entertainment journey kicked off at the tender age of 12, as she showcased her dancing skills in a school play titled Bugsy Malone. However, it was music that held her heart, and she started composing songs within the comforts of her own room, while also strategizing an unusual path for her career.
Her stage name derived from the moment she witnessed the ITV trivia game The Chase, where the presenter Bradley Walsh inquired about the term for a female panther to a contestant.
Initially, she chose ‘pantheress’ as her name for the answer, but upon discovering someone else had claimed it online, she decided to add ‘pink’ at the beginning instead.
