British model David Gandy shocked Londoners by handing out freshly-poured pints of beer.
On Wednesday, the 45-year-old celebrity revealed a unique, contemporary beer tap on London’s South Bank. The tap was created in partnership with the Italian beer brand, Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
The visually striking design, named La Fontana di Peroni, celebrates the brand’s Italian roots by playfully suggesting it transforms water into beer.
Gandy kicked off the season at London’s new Christmas attraction by expertly pouring the first ceremonial beer, then served refreshing pints to everyone who stopped by.
The model, originally from Essex, looked stylish in a blue suit, black turtleneck, and long grey coat. He called the ornate faucet a ‘modern masterpiece’.
He said: ‘It’s all about creating moments that bring people together.

Christmas is a truly magical time, and La Fontana di Peroni brings together the joy of the season with the elegance of Italy. It’s amazing – turning water into beer! That’s a brilliantly innovative idea.
You can find the ‘Wonder Tap’ at Observation Point on London’s South Bank. It’s open daily from noon to 8pm and will be there until December 14th.
Okay, so get this – my absolute favorite beer brand did some research, and it turns out a huge number of us Brits – like, 44% – actually believe the UK knows how to throw the best, most stylish parties! Seriously, it’s amazing. And that’s why they’re building this incredible monument – to celebrate us and how awesome our celebrations are! I mean, it’s just… perfect. It totally makes sense, and I’m already planning my visit!
Over 80% of people in the UK believe that cheerful public events like light displays, art installations, and temporary pop-up attractions are important for improving the national spirit during the winter months.
Managers are confident that La Fontana di Peroni adds a touch of elegance and happiness to London, giving both residents and tourists a unique opportunity to enjoy a stunning Italian-style display.
I was really surprised to hear about Gandy teaming up with Peroni, especially so soon after his very public criticism of Daddy Pig! It feels like just weeks ago he was calling Peppa Pig’s dad ‘useless,’ and now this. It’s definitely a turn of events!
The model believes the animated character promotes a bad ‘narrative’ about men.
David Gandy, father to two daughters with his partner Stephanie Mednoros (who is a lawyer), believes the very popular children’s TV show promotes harmful stereotypes about how boys and girls should behave.
Despite being portrayed as somewhat incompetent and reliant on Mummy Pig throughout the show, Daddy Pig actually challenges traditional gender roles at home by handling tasks like laundry, cleaning, and taking the children to school.
Britain’s top-earning male model, Gandy, believes men his age are embracing new kinds of roles, and he’d like to see more of that reflected in movies and television shows.

As a dad myself, I really connected with what Tony Gandy said on the BBC with Laura Kuenssberg. He made a great point about Peppa Pig – it’s frustrating to see portrayals where the father figure is consistently depicted as incompetent. I think a lot of dads feel that way – we wonder why our kids are watching something that essentially paints their dad as a bit of a fool.
People often tell me I seem to embody traditional masculinity, and I’m always surprised. They point to things like my love of classic cars, tailored suits, and watches, as well as my active lifestyle – skiing and my physical presence. But I also handle everyday tasks like laundry, cleaning, and taking the kids to school, which seems to confuse them.
He explained that things are different now for fathers. His generation is the first where many dads are having to adapt and take on new responsibilities.
‘One of the key things is there are not enough narratives about good men.’
As someone who looks at societal trends, I’m really concerned about the impact people like Andrew Tate are having, particularly on young men who might be more easily influenced. It’s clear to me that his message is, unfortunately, having a negative effect on their outlook and behavior, and we need to be aware of that.
‘The idea of masculinity to me is quite broad. There’s not one thing that fits all,’ he said.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed a concerning trend: a lot of the content out there – particularly from figures like Andrew Tate – is promoting a really rigid and, frankly, unhealthy idea of what it means to be a man. It’s this very extreme version of masculinity that I think is doing more harm than good.
‘There are not enough examples of good, kind men out there and the things they do.’
