British “high-octane thriller” with “gripping, addictive” plot confirms release date with first look

The new thriller series Steal, starring Sophie Turner and Archie Madekwe, will premiere soon, and a sneak peek has just been released. Described as fast-paced and captivating, it promises to be a must-watch.

The upcoming Prime Video series stars Sophie Turner (known from Game of Thrones and X-Men) as Zara, a seemingly normal office worker unexpectedly caught in the middle of a massive, century-defining heist.

Zara and her close friend Luke are shocked when a group of dangerous thieves unexpectedly attacks them and takes control of the situation. With billions of pounds stolen, and a major crime investigator (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd) now involved, it quickly becomes clear this isn’t a simple theft.

All episodes of Steal, directed by Sam Miller and Hettie Macdonald and written by SA Nikias, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting January 21st, so fans won’t have to wait much longer.

“Steal” is a fast-paced, modern thriller series about a massive heist and Zara, an everyday office worker unexpectedly caught up in the action. The series has six episodes.

Life at Lochmill Capital, a pension fund investment company, takes a dramatic turn when a violent gang storms in and forces Zara and her friend Luke to comply with their orders. The big question is: who would steal billions of pounds from people’s pensions, and what’s their motive?

Detective Chief Inspector Rhys is committed to uncovering the truth, but he’s battling a personal struggle with a recent return to gambling. He needs to control his own financial issues while navigating the hidden motives and conflicting goals of those involved in this complex crime.

When Amazon MGM Studios first announced this project back in May 2024 – it was called Haven then – Vernon Sanders, their Head of Television, told Deadline it was going to be a seriously thrilling show. He said it would be totally gripping, addictive, and just plain fun to watch. Basically, he promised a wild ride, and I’m hyped!

Steal will premiere on Prime Video on 21 January 2026.
