A renowned British spy thriller series is now available on yet another UK streaming platform, following the terms of a fresh agreement.
The Irish Independent has labeled it as a “drama worth staying up for,” and now, you can catch the highly-acclaimed limited series “A Spy Among Friends” on Disney+.
The series, which originally aired on ITV, remains available to stream on ITVX.

Launched at the beginning of the year, this collaborative project involves each streaming platform featuring an “A Taste Of” segment. Here, content such as shows and movies from the other platform can be accessed without any additional charges.

First released in 2022, “A Spy Among Friends” is a television adaptation based on the book written by Ben Macintyre. In the lead are Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce.
The TV show “A Spy Among Friends” came out in 2022. It’s an adaption of a book by the same name, and it stars Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce as the main characters.
In 1963, this drama set during the Cold War is inspired by real events, featuring Pearce as the character of British spy and double agent for the KGB, known as Kim Philby in actuality.
The show additionally explores Lewis’s character, MI6 agent Nicholas Elliott, as he grapples with shock upon uncovering his friend Philby’s questionable allegiances.
The ensemble is completed with Anna Maxwell Martin playing Lily Thomas, Adrian Edmondson portraying MI5 director Roger Hollis, Stephen Kunken as the head of CIA, James Jesus Angleton, and Edward Baker-Duly enacting Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series is Certified Fresh with an 88% critics’ score out of 25 reviews.
The series has been characterized as a tense drama with intricate diplomatic implications (as stated by AV Club), whereas The Playlist emphasized that this espionage-themed story, which also explores friendship, is far from typical or predictable.
