Brit pop icon Adele thanks Netflix hit Adolescence for ‘changing her relationship with her son’ in heartwarming letters

British pop sensation Adele penned gratitude letters to the makers of the popular Netflix show, “Adolescence.

37-year-old singer shared with director Philip Barantini (aged 44) that she often watches intense crime dramas alongside her 13-year-old son, Angelo.

Adele commended the show because it altered how she connects with Angelo, a person she co-parents with her former spouse Simon Konecki (age 51).

The movie titled “Adolescence” features Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham in its cast, and it tells the tale of a 13-year-old student who stands trial for allegedly killing a fellow pupil, influenced by hateful online material promoting misogyny.

According to Director Philip, he’s receiving an overwhelming number of messages on Instagram from individuals across the globe who find this story relatable or have been deeply impacted by it. This, in his words, has left him somewhat astounded.

During a masterclass with the Royal Television Society, he mentioned that he had received communication from Steven Spielberg, who had viewed it twice, and also received handwritten letters from Adele recently, as reported by The Sun.

He went on to explain, “It’s similar to them having viewed it together, and the experience has significantly altered their bond.

In his enthusiasm, the director noted that the television series exceeded their predictions, praising Netflix’s role in raising its status to this impressive height.

In other words, the four-part series ranks as Netflix’s second most popular English-language television program, surpassed only by the Addams Family spin-off titled ‘Wednesday’.

Since its March 13 debut, Adolescence has racked up 141.2 million views.

The show has ignited a nationwide discussion and even encouraged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to propose its airing in educational institutions.

He shared that he had watched it alongside his 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, expressing that as their father, he found it challenging to watch.

After Adele’s uncommon public outing alongside her partner Rich Paul, aged 44, during an NBA match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this year, it occurred.

Despite preferring to keep their relationship low-key, Adele and Rich are often spotted attending sports events together.

Previously, Adele shared with Rolling Stone that they first crossed paths through a common acquaintance. At a birthday celebration, they both found themselves grooving to a tune by Drake on the dance floor.

The pair, involved in a relationship since 2021, made public their engagement news in August the previous year. This announcement was marked by Adele showcasing her engagement ring.

In response to a suggestion from a fan, Adele clarified that she is unable to marry him as she is already planning to get married.

The romance is Adele’s first relationship since she divorced her ex-husband Simon. 

From 2018 through 2021, that pair got married. They reportedly separated on friendly terms when Adele chose to conclude their relationship.

In my perspective, I wasn’t utterly wretched, but there was a definite risk of becoming so if I hadn’t prioritized my own well-being first.

‘But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that.’

After Adele confirmed her engagement with Rich, she disclosed that she was planning a prolonged hiatus from the music scene.

She’s been extremely complimentary about the relationship and expressed her desire for having additional kids in the future.

In her speech last May, she expressed that after completing all her responsibilities and performances, she desires to start a family by having a child.

In simpler terms, I’m expressing a desire for a daughter since I already have a son. The emotional connection I anticipate could range from deeply loving her to intensely disliking her at times, much like the complex feelings I have for someone I admire greatly but may also find challenging.

It seems to me that’s how things might unfold. I have a feeling she’ll keep correcting me frequently, right? Given she has you as her mother and Rich as her father, she’s likely to act quite bossy, isn’t she?

Rich, from Ohio, already has three children – Reonna, Richie, and Zane – from a prior relationship.

Adele expressed gratitude to the sports agent for his continual encouragement, saying, “Thank you for consistently boosting my confidence and making me believe I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
