Bristol Palin reveals ‘gut-wrenching’ six-word text teen son Tripp sent her about moving to Alaska with dad Levi Johnson

Bristol Palin opened up further regarding the latest sorrow within her family, as her 15-year-old son Tripp has now left their residence in Texas.
The 33-year-old reality star revealed how her teenager informed her of his decision to relocate to Alaska full-time to live with his father, Levi Johnston, her ex-fiancé.
She mentioned during Monday’s episode of Sex, Lies and Spray Tans podcast that he had texted her saying, “Hey Mom. I won’t be returning,” which left her utterly astonished. At first, she responded with disbelief, thinking, “I’m heading to Alaska, we’re not having this conversation.” She was furious, incredibly angry.
In simpler terms, the daughter of ex-Alaska governor Sarah Palin mentioned that she finds it hard because until recently, it was only her and her brother Tripp. Now, with the arrival of her daughters Sailor Grace (8 years old) and Atlee Bay (7 years old), there are more family members in their household, but it’s still a significant change for her since Tripp and she were the only two children before.
She then confessed: ‘It’s changed the dynamic of so much.’
As her son nears the age of 16, a previous participant on Dancing with the Stars feels it’s essential for him to be with his father, and she thinks relocating to live together is the most suitable choice.
‘All I can do is just hope and pray that it is what’s best,’ she explained.
Besides sharing that she’s pondering over the idea, Bristol pointed out that her roots are in Alaska as a significant portion of her family resides there.
She expressed, “I deeply desire for him to always be by my side, as he’s not only a dear friend but also an integral part of my life. My children mean the world to me. Yet, I understand I cannot prioritize my personal wishes above others.”
On August 14th, Bristol shared in an Instagram post the deep impact that Tripp’s choice had on her.
She penned that her ‘first day of school’ was particularly challenging, as a significant part of her heart was absent. Later, it was revealed that ‘Tripp’ opted to complete high school in Alaska so he could be nearer to his father and the whole family.

Bristol said she was doing her best to cope with the change.
Bristol admitted, “It’s been quite difficult for me to reach this conclusion, but let me clarify that it’s not a matter of my personal desires.”
Bristol shared, “I’m holding back tears when I say this, but I’m secretly hoping for a swift passage of time and an effortless transition for us.”
In 2008, Bristol gained significant attention on a national scale due to her mother’s vice-presidential bid, which was in conjunction with the Republican nominee for president, the late Senator John McCain from Arizona.
In September 2008, she was present at the Republican National Convention, accompanied by Johnston. Her pregnancy with Tripp, which occurred when she was just 17 years old, drew significant media attention. This happened during her mother’s rapid climb to political prominence, serving as McCain’s running mate.
After the campaign, their relationship with Johnston continued to be noticed by the public through two events before they ultimately separated permanently.
In 2009, Bristol found herself in the spotlight after accepting a role worth $262,500 with The Candie’s Foundation, where she would act as their abstinence advocate for teen pregnancy prevention.
In her 2009 interview on Good Morning America, Bristol emphasized that total prevention of pregnancy can only be achieved through abstinence. She further added that this is the wisest decision, as it helps in avoiding teen pregnancies and sparing oneself from a great deal of emotional distress.
In the year 2015, I proudly announced my engagement to Dakota Meyer, a distinguished Marine and Medal of Honor recipient. However, we decided to call off our engagement and tied the knot in the same year. Unfortunately, our marriage didn’t last long, with Meyer filing for divorce in 2018. Since then, I’ve had fleeting romantic encounters, but at present, I’m happily single.
In her memoir titled “Not Afraid of My Life,” Bristol depicted her teenage pregnancy with Levi, referring to him as a bothersome insect who took her virginity when she was under the influence. However, it’s important to clarify that in an interview on Good Morning America, she emphasized that she was not accusing Levi of date rape or any form of sexual assault whatsoever.
Reflecting now as an adult, she admitted it had been a silly choice, one she wouldn’t make again. Drinking alcohol at such a young age wasn’t wise, and she regretted putting herself in that kind of predicament.
The legal skirmishes between the two parties ensued, initially marked by strong animosity that only escalated. In his first statement, Levi requested the proceedings to be held publicly to serve as a safeguard against any tendency towards excessive vindictiveness, aggression, or malice.
He stated: ‘Bristol isn’t likely to act that way, nor would I. However, her mother is influential, politically driven, and known for being incredibly vengeful…Therefore, I believe a public case could serve as a significant deterrent against Sarah Palin’s inclination to retaliate.’
Back in November 2013, I submitted legal papers aiming for a shared 50/50 custody arrangement with my son, Tripp. My reasoning at the time was that it would be beneficial for him to spend equal amounts of time with both me and his mother.
Previously granted sole custody, Bristol argued that the request for custody change was actually aimed at lowering his child support obligations, coming from the ex-oilfield worker.
In a court hearing, it was argued by her legal representative that Levi, who was seen almost nude in Playgirl following their separation, still owes approximately $66,000 in overdue payments.
Soon after, Bristol found herself back in court, asserting that Levi was an unsuitable parent due to his lack of consistent visits with their eldest child. Furthermore, she argued that instead of fulfilling his financial obligations for child support, he squandered all his money on luxurious automobiles, hunting excursions, and lavish vacations.
Nevertheless, Bristol accumulated significant wealth through her successful business ventures. Following the birth of Tripp, she took on a role as a spokesperson for the Candie’s Foundation – an organization that aims to curb teen pregnancy. As per her tax records, she received approximately $262,000 in a single year for her work with the foundation.
Apart from Dancing With the Stars, she also authored a memoir in 2011 and had a short-lived reality show, Life’s a Tripp, on Lifetime TV. Additionally, she made an appearance on Lifetime TV in 2018 as part of Teen Mom OG, though the series was only renewed for one season.
After gaining significant financial resources, Bristol decided to purchase her first spacious five-bedroom house in Arizona. By the year 2014, she stated that she hadn’t earned a single cent for an 18-month period and requested a judge to boost Levi’s child support payments to $1,750 per month.
Shortly following that court filing, it became Levi’s turn to intensify the situation, requesting a judge to rule Bristol in contempt for removing Tripp from Alaska without his consent. The ex-pair resolved their child custody disagreement over Tripp in 2016, seven years after the birth of their son.
Besides Levi, there are three girls in his family as well – Breeze Beretta, Indy Rae, and Delta Jo. He tied the knot with Sunny Johnston, formerly known as Oglesby, in the year 2012, and they now make a happy family together.
Bristol and Levi have had an easier time co-parenting in recent years.
Currently, Bristol is venturing into the field of real estate for her profession, and simultaneously, she manages a fashion line named Boyhart, which she showcases on Instagram.
