Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale welcomes baby boy before Christmas
Oh, my heart is overflowing with joy as I bask in the radiant news of Lachie Neale and his beautiful family! As an ardent fan who has followed this AFL superstar’s journey since his days at Fremantle, I couldn’t be more thrilled for him and his lovely wife, Jules.
Lachie Neale, who shares the captaincy role with Brisbane Lions, welcomed a fresh family member right before the holiday season.
The AFL superstar, 31, and his wife Jules shared the happy news on Instagram Tuesday morning.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently had the delightful experience of capturing a touching moment in my life – my three-year-old cherub, Piper Rose, tenderly holding her brand-new baby brother at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital.
‘Freddie Oliver Neale, you complete our little family,’ the caption read.
The beaming father-of-two grinned from ear-to-ear for his first picture with his son.
‘Welcome to the world Freddie,’ he captioned the candid moment, with a red love heart.
Lachie received joyful news following the remarkable comeback of Brisbane Lions in September, who overpowered Sydney by a significant margin of 60 points, securing their first AFL championship in over twenty years.
This extraordinary year saw a remarkable player clinch four All-Australian selections, along with his fourth Merrett-Murray Medal, adding to his impressive haul of accolades during the current season.
In June, the joyful pair unveiled Jules’ pregnancy, using a delightfully sweet method involving their daughter Piper showcasing an ultrasound image to indicate the baby’s gender.
‘And then there were four,’ they said.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to nurture our tiny family. It wasn’t a straightforward process, but as you know, nothing truly valuable is ever effortless. To those embarking on their own TTC (trying-to-conceive) journey, my thoughts are filled with warmth and hope for you.
Lachie crossed paths with Jules at the age of 18, however, it wasn’t until about six years afterward that they began dating.
In a heartfelt wedding ceremony in Perth during November 2018, the pair got married, and shortly after, they shifted to Brisbane as Lachie joined the Lions.
In Brisbane’s Soja Studios, Jules has taken up work as a hairstylist, following her decision to sell her business in Perth and relocate cross-country to back Lachie in his AFL career.
Since 2017, the dazzling figure on the red carpet has accompanied her husband at every Brownlow Medal ceremony, with the exception of 2021 when they welcomed their daughter, Piper, into their family.
Ever since my husband-to-be stepped onto the field as a player for the Fremantle Dockers, I’ve been gradually elevating my fashion game. Now, I’m often one of the most eagerly awaited WAGs at events in the evening.
In 2020, when Lachie claimed his inaugural Brownlow Medal, he simultaneously disclosed the significant personal concession his wife had made by selling her salon in Perth, as part of their relocation journey together.
‘My wife Jules, she’s an amazing human being,’ he shared in his acceptance speech.
It’s worth noting that prior to our relocation to Brisbane, she actually ran a hair salon in Perth. However, she needed to part with it to join me in pursuing my aspirations here.
Over there, she was thriving quite nicely, yet she consistently prioritizes me over her own needs, which isn’t ideal.

Jules often shares glimpses of her bond with Lachie and their expanding household on social media, where they continue to radiate affection.
In September 2021, the couple joyously added Piper Rose to their family, and they’ve been candidly discussing their challenges in conceiving their cherished daughter.
Jules stands beside her husband, whether on the field or off it, and frequently accompanies him to high-profile events, demonstrating her elegant fashion flair.
The Brownlow Medal is presented annually to the most outstanding and fair player in Australian Rules Football (AFL) throughout the regular season. Remarkably, Lachie was the recipient of this honor in 2020 and 2023.
I’ve had the immense honor of joining an exclusive group of 16 players in VFL/AFL history, having been bestowed the distinguished award on more than one occasion. My beloved wife, Julie, was there to share the joy and pride in my victory.
