Channel 4 has revealed the new actors joining the cast of its upcoming romantic comedy, Break Clause, offering fans a first look at the show. The six-episode series focuses on an uncomfortable breakup, starring Samuel Bottomley (known from How to Have Sex) as Ben and Lara Ricote as his ex-girlfriend, Lil.
Lucy Black, who starred in Gentleman Jack, will play Deb, and John Thomas, known for Cold Feet, will play Alan. Jack James, recently seen in the ITV drama I Fought the Law, will be playing Jordan.
Created by Jess Bray (known for The Outlaws), the new Channel 4 series centers on Ben and Lil, who are trying to cope with a messy breakup while still sharing a home.

The show’s creator, Bray, expressed excitement about continuing the story of Ben and Lil, saying they’ve been dreaming about this comedy for years and are thankful Channel 4 and ZDFneo are giving them the opportunity.
The story outline went on to say they’d put together an incredibly talented creative team – a real dream team! – and they’re hoping to create something wonderful and enjoy the process.
Channel 4’s Head of Comedy, Charlie Perkins, praised the show as a fantastic creative collaboration with exciting new talent both in front of and behind the camera. He believes a romantic comedy is perfect for today’s binge-watching culture and that this series is a unique and welcome addition to Channel 4’s comedy lineup, adding that they are very pleased with the result.
Break Clause will air on Channel 4.
