“Brilliant” period drama with comparisons to Downton Abbey gets exciting new-season update

The new season of The Hardacres is coming soon, and the first images have just been released. Based on the popular books by CL Skelton, the first season told the story of the Hardacre family’s journey from poverty to wealth and the surprising challenges they faced along the way.

I was so excited when they announced season two! Not only were a lot of my favorite characters coming back, but they were adding a bunch of new ones too – it’s going to be amazing!

Claire Cooper and Liam McMahon will return as Mary and Sam Hardacre, and Julie Graham will once again play Mary’s mother, Ma.

I’m so excited to hear that Adam Little, Shannon Lavelle, and Zak Ford-Williams are all coming back to play Joe, Liza, and Harry Hardacre! It wouldn’t be the same without them as those kids.

Holly Sturton, Cathy Belton, Owen Roe, Ingrid Craigie, and Sarah Agha will all be back for the upcoming episodes, and the cast will also include several new actors.

What to Read Next

Michele Dotrice, known for her role in A Very English Scandal, will play Lady Imelda Hansen, the mother of Lady Emma Fitzherbert. Niall McNamee, who appeared in Saipan, will play the character Edward Blackwood.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League star Edward Mitchell also joined the cast as Arthur Lewis.

Season two takes place in 1895 and shows the Hardacre family facing big changes. As modern conveniences like electricity arrive at Hardacre Hall, relationships within the family begin to evolve.

Mary and Sam have always welcomed success and new possibilities, but their children are starting to define themselves in ways that go against tradition. Mary dedicates herself to helping dock workers get an education, while Sam focuses on growing the family business, even though he worries about whether their son, Joe, is prepared to take over during a difficult economic time.

I’m totally hooked on this story! It follows Joe, who’s really trying to make a name for himself, but his quick decisions might actually ruin everything. Then there’s Liza, who’s getting over a tough breakup, and she unexpectedly meets someone really cute. And Harry? He was planning on dropping out of school, but a new teacher is inspiring him to stay and actually try. It’s a wild ride seeing how everything unfolds for them all!

Things are getting really interesting in my game! I’ve unexpectedly connected with one character, which is awesome, but it’s also causing friction with some of my other relationships. To make matters worse, this powerful noblewoman, Lady Imelda Hansen, just showed up at the Fitzherbert’s place with some seriously shady plans. Now, the Hardacre family has to work together if they want to survive and not lose everything they’ve built. It’s a total crisis!

You can now watch season one of The Hardacres on 5. We don’t have a date yet for when season two will be released.
