Brigitte Bardot, 91, is rushed to hospital again as she battles a ‘serious illness’ after undergoing surgery

As a longtime observer of wellness and lifestyle, I’m saddened to hear that Brigitte Bardot has recently been hospitalized. It seems she’s facing a health challenge and is recovering from a previous surgery. Sending her my best wishes for a speedy and full recovery – it’s a reminder to us all to prioritize our health.

The 91-year-old actress was taken to Saint-Jean Hospital in Toulon about ten days ago and is still being cared for there.

Brigitte was released from the hospital in early October after a brief surgery for a health issue.

After completing three weeks of treatment at a private hospital in Toulon, she returned to her home in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera.

According to a representative, Brigitte Bardot is now home and recovering well.

According to a recent report in Nice Matin, Brigitte was unexpectedly readmitted to the hospital ten days ago due to a recurrence of her previous health issue.

Brigitte recently had to issue a statement clarifying that she is still alive after being hospitalized, as rumors had spread that she had passed away.

She became very angry when Aqababe, a well-known influencer famous for reporting celebrity gossip in his country, announced that Brigitte had died in the South of France.

Aqababe announced on X and Instagram that, according to their sources, Brigitte Bardot passed away today.

‘Her coffin was ordered in Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat in the 09 (Ariège) department.’

Aniss Zitouni, known as Aqababe, 27, said, ‘A legend is gone, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten and will always be remembered by the French people.’

A few hours later, Brigitte used X (formerly Twitter) to address rumors about her disappearance. She stated she was doing well and had no plans to resign, and called whoever started the false story an ‘idiot’.

French news outlets reported that Brigitte was hospitalized and had surgery for a serious health issue.

She was staying at her home in Saint-Tropez when she was admitted to a hospital in Toulon.

In July 2023, reports surfaced that the celebrity experienced breathing difficulties during a heatwave in Saint-Tropez.

Medics cared for her at her home in southern France after she began having trouble breathing.

Brigitte’s husband, Bernard d’Ormale, told Var-Matin that she began having difficulty breathing around 9am, describing it as a temporary respiratory issue.

He explained that her breathing was more forceful than normal, but she didn’t pass out. He described it as a brief interruption in her breathing pattern.

As a lifestyle expert, I always say, when someone needs a little extra help, it’s important to monitor them closely. That’s exactly what the medics did for Brigitte – they gave her oxygen and stayed with her for a while at her home to make sure she was stable before leaving. It’s reassuring to know they provided that level of care.

Bernard explained that, like many people her age, she’s become sensitive to the heat. At 88, she needs to avoid overexerting herself and conserve her energy.

The actress first gained recognition in the 1952 film The Girl In The Bikini, and quickly rose to become a leading star of French cinema after the war.

In 1956, Brigitte Bardot and her then-separated husband, Roger Vadim, appeared together in the film And God Created Woman. Despite some cuts made for American audiences, the movie became the most successful foreign film ever released in the United States at that time.

The actress wasn’t new to film, already having appeared in multiple movies and gained the playful nickname ‘sex kitten’.

When Brigitte Bardot appeared in films, American theater owners were arrested for showing them, but the negative publicity actually drew larger crowds. In 1957, religious leaders in New York urged people to boycott her movies, and the Vatican later labeled her ‘evil’ – a condemnation similar to the one they issued in 1963 against Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, accusing them of immoral behavior.

One critic complained that the film featured Brigitte sprawled across the entire screen, completely exposed, even suggesting it was a deliberate attempt to test censorship limits. Despite the criticism, or perhaps because of it, ticket lines continued to swell.
