Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy finally confirms digital release date in the UK
The digital release date for “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” has been set in the UK, with the wait not being too prolonged.
As a devoted fan, I was thrilled to catch Renee Zellweger’s latest installment of her franchise on the big screen, which graced our cinemas right before Valentine’s Day, and it’s still enchanting audiences!
If you’d prefer to watch Bridget at home, mark your calendars! The movie is set for a digital release on Monday, March 31, and it will be available on platforms like Prime Video.
In a pleasant surprise, Bridget’s fourth film appearance garnered favorable reviews from both audiences and professionals. Currently, it boasts an impressive 89% approval rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Last month, Digital Spy awarded it three stars and remarked that this installment might not leave an enduring impression as the initial film did, but it definitely does not diminish Bridget’s lasting impact or reduce her iconic status.
As a devoted fan, I find myself immersed in “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” which follows Bridget four years after the passing of her beloved Mark Darcy. Now, she’s juggling life as a single mom to energetic 9-year-old Billy and precocious 4-year-old Mabel.
Hugh Grant is back, with the cast also including Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall.
Although some believed that “Mad About the Boy” marked the end of Bridget, Zellweger stated in January that she would never completely let go of the character.
To Deadline, the actor expressed hope that author Helen Fielding could find inspiration and possibly revisit sharing more stories about Bridget in the future.
When asked about returning to her previous role, Zellweger responded, “Who wouldn’t want to?” She also expressed optimism, saying, “We can only wish” that this isn’t the final story.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is in cinemas now, and will be released digitally on March 31.
