Bridget Jones 4 gets huge filming update
As a die-hard Bridget Jones fan who has grown up with her antics and misadventures, this news about the fourth film wrapping up is nothing short of exhilarating! I remember the first time I watched Bridget Jones’s Diary back in the late ’90s, I instantly fell in love with her quirky charm, her relatable struggles, and the hilarious chaos that always seemed to follow her.
Bridget Jones 4 has shared an exciting filming update with fans.
As a gaming enthusiast, I just wanted to share some exciting news! The filming for “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy” has wrapped up, and the awesome team at Working Title made the announcement on their social media platform, which is now known as X (previously Twitter). It’s a fantastic feeling knowing that this project has come to an end, and I can’t wait for you all to see it! #BridgetJonesMadAboutTheBoy
The caption on this picture says, “All done! We’ll meet again on Valentine’s Day next year,” hinting at the movie’s upcoming release.
As a devoted Bridget Jones fan, I found myself gazing at a captivating scene from what seemed like her favorite haunt. Two camera screens sat side by side, flanked by a chair bearing the familiar name ‘Bridget Jones.’ In the backdrop, London’s Borough Market revealed itself through the window, with the iconic Globe Tavern standing proudly in the frame. It felt as if I had stepped right into one of her adventures!

For aficionados of the initial trilogy, it’s familiar that the pub stands in for Bridget’s residence on the outside – and the image seems to hint at a return visit to her trusted apartment in the forthcoming film.
The fourth movie titled “Bridget Jones” was adapted from Helen Fielding’s book of the same name, published in 2013. Renée Zellweger once again takes on her memorable character, while Hugh Grant re-enters as Daniel Cleaver, who was absent in the third film, “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”
Unfortunately, we won’t see Colin Firth return as Mark Darcy in the upcoming adaptation, as the plot of Fielding’s book doesn’t call for his character’s reappearance.
Nonetheless, audiences will be delighted to recognize Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent reprising their roles as Bridget’s parents, along with the welcomed return of Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson, and James Callis portraying Bridget’s longtime friends Sharon, Jude, and Tom.
In the upcoming movie, we have Emma Thompson reprising her role as Doctor Rawlings, and Sarah Solemani, who is Bridget’s colleague at work, also returning to the cast. They were both part of the third installment previously.
In the upcoming novel “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” several fresh faces will join the cast. These include Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for his role as Doctor Strange, Leo Woodall from “One Day,” and Nico Parker, who starred in “The Last of Us.” Additionally, Leila Farzad, an actress recognized for her work in “I Hate Suzie,” will also be part of the ensemble.
The filming for “Bridget Jones 4” started this May, with sightings of Renée Zellweger shooting scenes at Hampstead Heath and Haverstock Hill in London.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released in cinemas on February 14, 2025.
