Bridget Fonda’s Wild Love Life: From Country Stars to Scandalous Breakups!

For over two decades, Bridget Fonda has been married to Danny Elfman, but her love life before that was filled with captivating romantic entanglements.

Born in the late 1980s and 1990s, Bridget Fonda, daughter of actor Peter Fonda, was a notable presence in Hollywood. She featured in movies such as The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, and Jackie Brown.

Or simply:

Bridget Fonda, the actress and daughter of Peter Fonda, gained prominence in Hollywood during the late 1980s and 1990s with roles in films like The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, and Jackie Brown.

In 2002, she made headlines for leaving acting behind to prioritize her family. The following year, she married movie composer Danny. They are proud parents of a 20-year-old son named Oliver.

Recently, Bridget was seen without her wedding ring in public, and it occurred in January, a time when her husband, Elfman, was facing legal issues. This sighting marked a notable change as she previously displayed a significant weight loss.

In July, a defamation lawsuit was filed against Elfman (age 71) by a woman who had earlier claimed that he served her a cocktail glass containing semen.

Before Elfman, Fonda had a diverse love life that’s worth revisiting. Let’s delve into the romantic past of Fonda, which comprises a country singer, an actor, and a writer. DailyMail.com will take you through her relationship timeline.

Lee Drysdale (1986 – 1989)

Fonda’s first notable romance was that with filmwriter Lee Drysdale.

Fonda, a granddaughter who carries on the acting legacy of Henry Fonda (a notable figure in Hollywood), is part of an extremely limited group of movie stars spanning three generations.

18-year-old Fonda attended New York University for four years and also studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute during that time.

Afterward, she continued perfecting her skills through workshop performances and took part in plays like Just Horrible, penned by Nicholas Kazan. Interestingly, this same writer eventually gave Fonda a role in his first directorial project, Professional Man.

She was featured in both Jacob Have I Loved and a part of Aria, a movie made up of short films directed by 10 renowned filmmakers.

In the late 1980s, she shared a house with Lee.

The two were also pictured on some red carpets together.

In 1989 they were seen attending the premiere of her film Shag, and were pictured holding hands.

It is believed their romance ended sometime around 1989.

1991 saw Drysdale taking on both writing and directing duties for the action-drama movie titled “Leather Jackets.” In this film, Fonda portrayed Claudi, who was Mickey’s love interest, a character played by D.B. Sweeney.

Eric Stoltz (1990 – 1998)

After Lee, she spent most of the 1990s living with actor Eric Stoltz, 63.

The two met in 1986, and started dating in 1990.

Back in 1997, they both went to see the debut of Jackie Brown at the Ziegfeld Theater, which is located in New York City.

Bridget looked chic in a black dress, while Eric rocked a black leather jacket.

1991 saw them gracing the red carpet at the LA premiere of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the El Capitan Theatre in sunny California. This was no ordinary event held in the City of Angels.

Their relationship ended in 1998.

Eric went on to marry Bernadette Moley in 2005.

Stoltz boasts an impressive filmography spanning titles such as Some Kind of Wonderful, Pulp Fiction, Killing Zoe, and Kicking and Screaming.

Dwight Yoakam (1999 – 2002)

She was also romantically linked with country singer and actor Dwight Yoakam, 68.

The two appeared together in the 2000 movie South of Heaven, West of Hell.

Yoakam boasts a series of successful chart-toppers, such as Guitars, Cadillacs, I’m Running Wild, and A Long Way from Home.

He has won multiple Grammy awards.

The two were pictured attending the Grammy Awards in 2000.

They happily posed on the red carpet, with Jane rocking a gold blouse and a shimmering maxi skirt.

Meanwhile Yoakam was pictured in a grey cowboy hat and a long coat.

They are rumored to have started dating in 1999, before their split in 2002.

Yoakam also once dated actress Sharon Stone.

Danny Elfman (2002 – present)

Fonda sustained a serious vertebra fracture in a February 2003 car crash.

During the following month, she got engaged to Danny Elfman, a renowned film composer and ex-lead singer of Oingo Boingo. Their marriage took place in November.

In 2005, they welcomed their son.

Bridget famously retired from acting in 2002 to focus on raising a family with her composer spouse.

Years ago she said that she prefers civilian life and has no plans to return to Hollywood.

There has been some bad news for Danny.

In July, a woman filed a defamation lawsuit against Elfman, alleging that he had once served her a martini containing semen.

Previously, the 36-year-old composer Nomi Abadi took legal action against Elfman due to an alleged violation of their contractual agreement. She claimed that he hadn’t paid the promised share of a settlement as previously agreed.

2023’s Rolling Stone article saw Abadi level an allegation concerning the martini glass, prompting Elfman to vehemently dispute it.

Currently, Abadi is filing a defamation lawsuit against Elfman due to his denial of her accusations. She is taking legal action against the Oingo Boingo musician and composer (who has also faced a separate lawsuit from another woman for alleged sexual abuse), as per the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, because she believes that his denial amounts to calling her a liar, according to the lawsuit’s claims.

In the libel case brought forth by attorney Eric M. George on behalf of Abadi, she emphasized her allegations that Elfman provided her with a martini glass containing semen.

In August 2016, it is claimed that she received an invitation to Danny Elfman’s studio. There, she was supposedly offered a martini glass containing a white substance.

Abadi narrates her experience of sitting quietly, filled with fear and retching due to the overpowering stench wafting from… a sour fluid.

Additionally, she asserts that Elfman had remarked about then-candidate Donald Trump, who would later become President.

It isn’t certain what feelings the composer of Batman conveyed, but Abadi claims she reacted by voicing her endorsement for Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Bernie Sanders.

It has been reported that Elfman might have said, ‘It wouldn’t be suitable for a Jew to lead our nation.’ However, it remains uncertain whether Abadi perceived this as an inappropriate jest or a genuine conviction.

According to the Rolling Stone report, Abadi’s police report from November 2017 stated an incident where Elfman allegedly showed and masturbated in front of her, without her approval, on more than one occasion.

Following the allegations, Elfman reached a 2018 settlement and confidentiality agreement with Abadi.

or

After being faced with accusations, Elfman consented to a 2018 settlement and non-disclosure pact with Abadi.

In 2023, she took legal action against the musician, claiming he didn’t fulfill his part of a contract by not paying the full amount of $830,000 as stipulated.

Abadi admitted that he missed out on making two installments; one was supposed to be paid in the year 2019, and the other in 2021. The combined amount due for these payments was approximately $85,000.

In other words, Elfman is expressing his distress over how to react when facing extremely severe accusations that being innocent doesn’t matter because they are still damaging, and he fears that his entire 50-year career could be ruined in just one news cycle due to malicious, entirely fabricated claims about sexual misconduct.

‘Ms. Abadi’s allegations are simply not true,’ he continued.

Additionally, he asserted that Abadi referred to him as her “long-time crush” from childhood and that she intended to end his marriage with Bridget, which they have maintained since 2003.

Elfman asserted that he was innocent, stating that there was “a substantial amount of proof refuting these allegations.

Later, a spokesperson for Elfman clarified that his encounters with Abadi were neither of a sexual nature nor did they occur without mutual consent. They were simply interactions that were limited in scope.

Elfman’s agents asserted that what looked like semen in the martini glass wasn’t actually semen, but rather a container of the skin-friendly cream known as Cetaphil.

An email containing a picture of a glass holding a white material was sent to Abadi prior to her encounter with Elfman, during which he is said to have shown it to her personally.

The representative stated that the martini glass and its contents were intended as a humorous backdrop for a photoshoot, and it was understood by Ms. Abadi as well.

Now Abadi is suing Elfman for defamation and requesting unreported damages over his denials.

She maintains that the statements she made to Rollingstone were accurate, and she alleges that Elfman’s supposed falsehoods harmed her professional career as a composer and performer, leading to various health issues.
