Bridgerton’s Claudia Jessie teams up with Ed Sheeran for special project
As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside with the news of Ed Sheeran’s latest collaboration with Claudia Jessie for the music video ‘Under the Tree’, which is part of Richard Curtis’ upcoming festive animation, ‘That Christmas’.
Actress Claudia Jessie, best known for her role in Bridgerton, is working together with singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran on a unique venture – they are creating a music video together.
Today (November 26), the popular singer introduced his newest track called ‘Under the Tree’, a song produced specifically for the upcoming holiday animation by Richard Curtis titled ‘That Christmas‘.
In a new twist, Curtis, famously associated with “Love Actually” and “Notting Hill”, directed a music video where Jesse, known for her role as Eloise in “Bridgerton”, takes on the character of Sheeran’s girlfriend. They are seen reconnecting after a period of separation.
Richard Curtis created my favorite holiday movie and television production, according to Sheeran. In 2021, he visited my home and shared an early version of his latest work with me, and invited me to compose a tune for it. With such an opportunity, who could say no?
Finding suitable, top-notch holiday movies for really young children can be challenging when you have kids, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The song is based on a character from the movie who yearns to celebrate Christmas with his father, but unfortunately can’t.
This scene is truly heart-wrenching, and it’s a feeling that countless individuals experience during Christmas, as they spend the holiday season alone. I hope everyone enjoys the song; the movie title is “That Christmas” and it releases on Netflix on December 4th. My family and I are big fans of it, and I believe yours will be too.
Curtis found it incredibly exciting to direct his first music video with his good friend Ed Sheeran,” he said, also known for writing the scripts for movies like “The Boat That Rocked ” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral“.
I believe I’ve captured the essence of his stunning tune effectively. The lyrics are enchantingly poetic, serving as a pivotal scene trigger in the movie. Listening to it stirs up complex feelings that surpass what’s visible on the screen, evoking a sense of nostalgia and anticipation.
This upcoming Christmas special on Netflix, titled simply “Christmas,” focuses on the inhabitants of a fictional coastal town called Wellington-on-Sea as they strive to prevent holiday mishaps. The star-studded cast includes Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy.
That Christmas will stream on Netflix from December 4.
