Bridgerton teases “intriguing” romance in new season 4 trailer

Okay, fellow romance drama fans, get ready! Bridgerton is coming back for its fourth season just as the new year starts! I just watched the new trailer Netflix dropped, and let me tell you, it looks super intense and steamy – exactly what I was hoping for!

The next season of the hit show, inspired by Julia Quinn’s books, will center on the developing relationship between Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.

This season’s storyline, described as a modern fairy tale, centers on Benedict’s search for a wife. His life takes an unexpected turn when he’s captivated by a mysterious woman, the Lady in Silver, whom he meets at a masked ball. Meanwhile, he develops a connection with a maid named Sophie, not realizing she’s the same person as the Lady in Silver.

What to Read Next

The new trailer focuses on Benedict’s search for romance, and Sophie struggling with whether to admit she was the masked performer. Expect plenty of steamy moments, as always.

The story follows Benedict Bridgerton, the second son who resists pressure to find a wife, much to the dismay of his mother, Lady Violet Bridgerton. Everything changes when he’s captivated by a stunning and enigmatic woman wearing a silver mask at his mother’s masquerade ball.

Benedict, with some convincing from his sister Eloise, begins attending social events hoping to discover the mysterious woman he’s fallen for. However, he soon realizes the object of his affections isn’t a member of high society at all – it’s Sophie Baek, a clever and capable maid working for the intimidating Lady Araminta Gun.

When Benedict and Sophie unexpectedly meet again, he finds himself torn between his growing feelings for the captivating Sophie and his idealized image of a mysterious woman known as the Lady in Silver – not realizing they are actually the same person.

Man, I’m really worried about Benedict. He’s clearly falling for Sophie, but he just can’t seem to put together the pieces about who she really is. It’s killing me to watch! I’m hoping their connection is strong enough to overcome everything – especially since everyone around them seems determined to keep them apart because of their different backgrounds. Can love actually win against all that, though? That’s what I’m dying to find out.

Season four will star Ruth Gemmell, Claudia Jessie, and Katie Leung, alongside returning cast members Jonathan Bailey and Nicola Coughlan, in addition to Thompson and Ha.

The new season of the historical drama will have eight episodes. The first four will be available on Netflix starting January 29, 2026, and the final four will be released on February 26, 2026 – just under a month later.

Bridgerton seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
