Bridgerton star lands next movie role in new period drama
As a gamer who’s been following the TV and film scene for quite some time now, I must say that Ruby Stokes’ new role in ‘Madfabulous’ has certainly piqued my interest! The 19th-century Welsh drama with its star-studded cast and intriguing premise feels like a fresh take on period dramas.
Bridgerton actor Ruby Stokes has landed her next role in a period drama film.
In the upcoming film “Madfabulous,” previously seen as Francesca Bridgerton in the first two seasons of the popular Netflix series, will be playing a role. This movie is set in 19th century Wales and features Callum Scott Howells from “It’s a Sin” portraying the flamboyant aristocratic rebel Henry Paget.
Upon my arrival from France to reside in Anglesey’s grand castle, I encountered the captivating character of Lily, penned by Stokes. Our encounter ignited a luminous energy in both our lives. Over time, we evolved into the dearest of friends, nurturing a profound bond that transcended mere friendship – a platonic love flourished between us.
Throughout his life, Henry transformed into an influential figure in fashion, converted a church into a vibrant stage for performances, and depleted all the financial resources of his family. Eventually, he passed away at the tender age of 29.
Alongside Rupert Everett, Siobhán McSweeney from the show “Derry Girls”, Tom Rhys Harries known for his role in “Doctor Who” episode ‘Dot and Bubble’, and Kevin Eldon are among the cast members.
Steve Speirs, Paul Rhys, Louis Hynes, Louise Brealey, Roger Evans, Guillaume Gallienne, and Coronation Street’s Ian Puleston-Davies complete the ensemble. At the moment, filming is happening in Anglesey, the hometown of director Celyn Jones, along with Caernarfon and Pwllheli.
Jones commented, “On our film ‘Madfabulous,’ we’re blessed with a wealth of talent, both in front of and behind the camera.”
It’s delightful to share this tale at this very moment, in this unique setting. Henry, an extraordinary individual, is worthy of such a fresh interpretation. Let’s explore his legend through the colorful lens of disco and the raw spirit of punk music.
Last year, Stokes said that leaving Bridgerton was “a difficult choice”. She went on to star in Netflix’s Lockwood & Co, while Hannah Dodd took over the role of Francesca for Bridgerton‘s third season.
Madfabulous does not currently have a release date.
