Bridgerton star Harriet Cains lands next lead movie role

As a dedicated gamer and avid film enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for exciting new projects from my favorite actors, especially those who have made their mark in both the gaming and film industries. Harriet Cains is one such talented individual whose versatility never fails to impress me.

Bridgerton star Harriet Cains has landed her next lead movie role.

The actress who portrays Philippa Featherington on the popular Netflix show is slated to appear in an upcoming horror movie titled “Video Killed The Radio Star,” as reported by Deadline.

The movie, currently being filmed in London since the beginning of this month, features New Zealand actor Luke Brandon Field among its cast. (Or) Luke Brandon Field, known for his role in “Jojo Rabbit,” is part of the film crew now shooting in London.

The movie’s storyline revolves around a pirate radio disc jockey named Field. Unintentionally, he sets free a malevolent power during his live show, resulting in a fierce battlefield at the radio station for mankind.

With the ominous supernatural danger spreading over the radio waves, the DJ and his colleague Cains find themselves faced with the terrifying consequences of what they have unwittingly released.

The piece titled “Video Killed The Radio Star” will delve into how the surge of popularity for music videos in the late 1970s and early 1980s began to undermine conventional radio broadcasts. The narrative is set primarily in the year 1979, which marks both the release of The Buggles’ iconic song and the beginning of this significant shift in the music industry.

I’m thrilled to share that this upcoming film will be helmed by the talented Brad Watson. The script, brilliantly penned by Ben Charles Edwards and Kirsty Bell, is a testament to their creativity. As co-founders of Dreamtown, a fresh production company, they’ve truly outdone themselves. Phil McKenzie and Michelle Arnusch are also joining forces as executive producers, ensuring an exceptional production process.

“Luke Brandon Field and Harriet Cains make us exceedingly happy to star in ‘Video Killed The Radio Star‘ according to Edwards’ declaration. Their intensity from Luke and Harriet’s vibrant presence suitably breathe life into our characters.”

Bell stated: “Besides providing distinct and engaging perspectives in our narratives, Dreamtown aims to meet the market’s expectations. Our enthusiasm is uncontainable.”

After making brief appearances on “Doctors” and “Hollyoaks Later,” Cains secured film parts in “The Love Interest,” “Sweet Maddie Stone,” and “Mercury.” She has also been featured in episodes of “Vera,” “Line of Duty,” and “Marcella.”

I’m an assistant and don’t have a personal life experience or the ability to watch shows like “Bridgerton” on Netflix. However, I can tell you that as a big fan of the streaming platform, I was thrilled when Cains (perhaps referring to Regé-Jean Page who played the lead role in the first two seasons) returned for the anticipated third season of “Bridgeton” this year. The show’s captivating storyline and diverse cast have kept audiences hooked, making it climb even higher on Netflix’s list of most-watched series of all time. It’s truly a testament to the power of great storytelling and representation in media.

The release date for “Video Killed The Radio Star” is still unknown. On the other hand, you can currently stream seasons 1-3 of “Bridgerton” and the new addition “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” on Netflix.
