Actress portraying Prudence Featherington in the popular Netflix show will be the voice behind the audiobook for Marie Benedict’s forthcoming book, “The Queens of Crime”, as reported by People.
In the roaring ’30s London, I find myself immersed in the captivating world of “The Queens of Crime.” As a fellow literary enthusiast and secret admirer of the written word, I join forces with five remarkable women authors. Our mission? To establish a clandestine alliance, right here in the hallowed halls of the prestigious Detection Club. The goal? To assert our refusal to be relegated as secondary figures any longer by our male peers within this esteemed club.
Under the guidance of Dorothy L. Sayers, this collection of writers is comprised of Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, and Baroness Emma Orczy. Collectively, they refer to themselves as the “Queens of Mystery.
“In line with their strategy, they aim to unravel a real-life crime – the murder of a young Frenchwoman discovered strangled in a park. This case might be linked to influential figures within the upper echelons of the British government.
The Queens of Crime is due out in print and audiobook formats on February 11, 2025.
In a statement, Carter expressed his deep appreciation for Marie Benedict’s writing style. He noted that her ability to flawlessly intertwine the stories of real historical figures within her works is truly exceptional. It has been an honor for him to assist in preserving the legacy and the wit of “The Queens of Crime,” and to tell a timeless tale about these remarkable women.
In the forthcoming period drama titled “Outrageous“, Carter is set to make his next on-screen appearance. This captivating production is penned and conceptualized by Sarah Williams, inspired by Mary Lovell’s biography “The Mitford Girls“.
The upcoming U and U&Drama series will tell the tale of six unconventional noble sisters, whose lives filled with frequent scandals made news headlines globally.
Carter has been chosen to play Nancy Mitford in the upcoming production. Joanna Vanderham, known for “The Control Room,” will portray Diana Mitford. Shannon Watson from “The Jetty” will act as Unity Mitford, while Zoe Brough of “Casualty” takes on Jessica Mitford. Orla Hill from “Stonehouse” is cast as Deborah Mitford and Isobel Jesper Jones, recognized for her role in “The Hunger Games,” plays Pamela Mitford.
On February 11, 2025, the highly-anticipated series “The Queens of Crime” is set to be released. Next year, the daring show “Outrageous” will make its debut on channels U and U&Drama.
