Bridgerton season 4’s Benedict and Sophie story has “juicy conflict and high stakes”

The creator of Bridgerton has given fans a hint about the love stories coming in the show’s fourth season, which will be released in two parts early in 2026. The first set of four episodes will premiere on January 29th, and the last four episodes will be available on February 26th.

Okay, so season 4 of Bridgerton is going to be all about Benedict! They’re adapting the third book, An Offer from a Gentleman, and it looks like we’re finally getting his love story – it’s with Sophie, one of the housemaids. I’m really excited to see how that plays out!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jess Brownell explained that the book was surprisingly simple to turn into a TV series, offering fans a lot to enjoy.

What to Read Next

According to Brownell, the novel An Offer from a Gentleman was a natural fit for a television adaptation, particularly for a love story. The book’s detailed settings and dramatic situations provided plenty of opportunities for conflict and suspense.

“I think fans will be happy to see quite a few of the set pieces from the book in the show.”

The upcoming season will delve into the differences between social classes, a theme the show’s creator says will bring a fresh perspective to Bridgerton, alongside a central love story.

Brownell explained they discussed moving the action downstairs and how it would change the feel of the show.

It really fits with the ideas we were focusing on this season. Benedict tends to live in a world of his own imagination, while Sophie deals with a much tougher, more realistic world.

The belief is that neither of those locations are suitable for them to find lasting love.

The new season won’t focus solely on Benedict; Eloise will also have a significant storyline, and we’ll see more of Colin and Penelope as a married couple.

The showrunner explained that they aim to make sure all the siblings feel included and play a meaningful role in the central romance.

You can currently watch seasons 1 through 3 of Bridgerton on Netflix. The first part of season 4 will be available starting January 29th.

The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s a special tribute to Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops that sell magazines or order it online for only £8.99.
