Bridgerton Season 4: Get Ready for 6 New Romantic Couples You Can’t Miss!

The fourth season of “Bridgerton” is approaching, and although details about the storyline are scarce, viewers can anticipate a deep dive into the relationships and romantic entanglements of six different couples. The third season of this popular Netflix show culminated in Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton’s union, as well as the pairing of Francesca Bridgerton with John Stirling. However, the conclusion of the previous season hinted at a budding romance that is likely to be developed further in the upcoming episodes.

Filming for Bridgerton Season 4 has come to an end, yet Netflix hasn’t specified an exact launch date. Nevertheless, they have hinted that the new season will air some time in the year 2026. This upcoming season will be based on “An Offer From a Gentleman”, the third book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series.

All Six Major Romances in Bridgerton Season 4

Benedict Bridgerton & Sophie Baek

Sophie Baek (or Sophie Beckett) hasn’t made an appearance in “Bridgerton” so far, but fans can expect to become acquainted with her in Season 4. The forthcoming season of this romantic drama will zero in on Benedict Bridgerton, as each season delves into the love quests of one Bridgerton child.

In the upcoming episodes, it’s been revealed that Yerin Ha will take on the role of Sophie, who shares some resemblance with Cinderella in the original tale. She is a servant who attends the Bridgerton Masquerade Ball secretly and encounters Benedict there. There’s an immediate spark between them, but due to Sophie being a maid, Benedict is unable to locate her after that enchanted night.

However, the two end up falling in love and getting married.

Francesca Bridgerton & John Stirling

In the finale of Bridgerton Season 3, Francesca Bridgerton and John Stirling exchanged vows, but their journey is only starting to unfold. It appears that the show might deviate slightly from the books’ plot, since in the original storyline, John meets an untimely end and Francesca later marries his first cousin, Michael, after mourning John for many years.

As a devoted moviegoer, I should clarify that earlier hints suggested a budding romance between Francesca and John’s relative – originally a male character. Yet, in this intriguing twist, John’s cousin has been transformed into Michaela, adding an exciting layer of gender-swapped dynamics to the storyline.

There’s some uncertainty about whether John will perish in the TV series or not, but fans can hope for a prolonged period of interaction between Francesca and John in Season 4.

Francesca Bridgerton & Michaela Stirling

In my humble opinion as a movie enthusiast, the tantalizing hints dropped in Bridgerton Season 3 have set the stage for an intriguing love story between Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling. The moment their paths crossed for the first time, it was unmistakable that there was a spark of romantic feelings igniting between them, and I can’t wait to see how this budding connection unfolds in Season 4.

Should John pass away during Season 4, viewers might witness Francesca and Michaela consoling one another, given their evidently strong bond with John.

In the Season 4 finale, there’s a chance we might see Francesca and Michaela officially becoming a couple, however, it may also get delayed until Season 5.

Anthony & Kate Bridgerton

In the captivating Season 2 of the Netflix show, I found myself deeply immersed in the evolving romance between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma. From the very beginning, it was evident that they harbored mutual animosity towards each other, although astute viewers like myself could sense the simmering romantic tension. However, as the story unfolded, their feelings for one another proved too powerful to resist, culminating in their beautiful union as a married couple.

Anthony and Kate, who made a brief appearance in Season 3 due to their honeymoon extension, raised some speculation among fans about their future involvement, much like Phoebe Dynevor’s character Daphne Bridgerton in earlier seasons. Unlike Daphne, who was the central figure in Season 1 but had a smaller role in Season 2, she did not appear at all in Season 3 and it has been confirmed that she won’t be present in Season 4.

In Season 4, Anthony and Kate are expected to show up a few times. Their screen time may not be as extensive as it was in Season 2, but their storyline is set to delve deeper into their relationship.

Penelope & Colin Bridgerton

As a passionate film enthusiast, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the third season of Bridgerton – a tale that unfolded the love story between none other than Colin and Penelope. For seasons on end, my heart fluttered for Colin, but it was only in this season that he too acknowledged his feelings towards Penelope, mirroring my own hidden affection all along.

In the third season, they tied the knot, and it’s anticipated that they’ll have significant parts in season 4. Given how deeply fans seem to care about their romantic storyline compared to others, it’s only fitting that they’re returning for more.

In Season 3’s finale, actress Nicola Coughlin hinted that character Penelope might undergo a significant transformation in Season 4, as she is expecting her first child with Colin. Consequently, Season 4 may delve into Penelope’s pregnancy journey. It’s also possible that the new season could feature Penelope giving birth to their child.

Will & Alice Mondrich

Through their captivating journey in Bridgerton, Will and Alice Mondrich have ascended from secondary roles to esteemed members of high society, solidifying their status within the ton.

For the upcoming Season 4, the performers playing both key characters (Martins Imhangbe and Emma Naomi) have been promoted to permanent cast members. This means they’ll likely feature in almost all episodes, with a few exceptions where they might miss an episode or two.

In Julia Quinn’s book series, Will and Alice were not featured characters, so we can’t predict their relationship trajectory. Yet, given their roles as series regulars, it’s likely they will play significant parts in “Bridgerton” Season 4.
