Bridgerton has cast West End star Gracie McGonigal in the regency drama’s upcoming fourth season.
In the upcoming season of the popular Netflix series, the focus shifts to Benedict Bridgerton’s (played by Luke Thompson) romance, featuring Yerin Ha in her first appearance as Sophie Baek, who becomes his love interest.
A fresh character, Hazel the young maid, is being introduced into the show, with McGonigal stepping into this new role.
As reported by RadioTimes, Hazel has navigated a challenging journey, yet she continues to be vibrant, brimming with energy, and eagerly makes new friends, in spite of the hurdles she encounters.
Mcgonigal’s role in the series signifies a significant achievement, marking her as the first cast member born with a limb impairment.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this marks my debut in a significant on-screen role, having previously made a guest appearance in just one episode of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Power”. Despite this, I’ve had the privilege of gracing the West End stage with roles in productions like “The Crucible” and “The Little Big Things”.
In simple terms, the third series of “Bridgerton” concluded in June, and sadly, viewers might have to be patient for season four since its creator, Jess Brownell, hinted that it could take another two years before we revisit the world of Regency England.
She mentioned that we’re making an effort to accelerate the production process for each new season, but due to the fact that it takes around eight months to film, followed by editing and dubbing in multiple languages, it doesn’t happen instantly, she pointed out after the conclusion of season three.

It also requires considerable time for the writing process, which means we’re moving at approximately a two-year rate. However, we’re making efforts to quicken it, and our current progress falls within that timeframe.
This year, I was fortunate enough to catch a sneak peek of the fourth season, featuring a tantalizing glimpse into the initial encounter between Benedict and Sophie at a grand masquerade ball – quite the spectacle!
Bridgerton seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
