Okay, I’ve been waiting so long for the new season of Bridgerton to hit Netflix – it’s been 18 months! This time around, the story is all about Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, and I’m dying to know what the critics think of their romance. Is the fourth season any good?
The newest season of this historical romance, adapted from Julia Quinn’s 2001 novel An Offer from a Gentleman, focuses on Benedict as he feels pressured to marry and continue his family’s legacy.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a mysterious woman in silver at a masked ball, and he becomes determined to learn who she is. What he doesn’t realize is that the woman behind the mask is actually Sophie, a maid he’s begun to connect with, and he’s forming a relationship with someone he doesn’t recognize.

You can relax knowing that the beginning of Sophie and Benedict’s romance is progressing well. We think you’ll be eager to see how they recover from the shocking moment at the end of the last episode, just like we are!

Sydney Morning Herald
What makes this season particularly interesting is its focus on class and social issues. It’s not just about the pretty dress; this version of Cinderella highlights the importance of workers’ rights and the unfair treatment of those who serve – think of ‘Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo’ as a demand for fair pay.
The Guardian
I used to dislike Bridgerton, but I have to admit it’s surprisingly enjoyable. It’s a bit silly and overly romantic, but it’s hard not to get sucked in. I regret ever doubting it!
Vulture
Unlike previous seasons, the fourth season of Bridgerton successfully connects its smaller storylines to the central plot, which is a surprisingly effective touch for the show.

Time Magazine
Even though Bridgerton is still a fun and romantic show, it would be better if it took more risks with its storylines – and allowed its main character to do the same.
USA Today
The fourth season had the potential to be a fresh start, despite the challenges of working with weaker source material. However, it ends up feeling drawn-out and dull, with only occasional sparks of excitement or mystery.
The first part of Bridgerton season 4 is now available on Netflix, and the second part will be released on February 26th.
