Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes has revealed how many seasons of the drama are on the way.

During the Edinburgh TV Festival, Rhimes shared that there are still five seasons left for the popular Netflix show, which has already shown three seasons.

Inquired about the number of seasons the show would span, Rhimes shared her intention to produce a grand total of eight seasons (according to The Independent).

Drawing inspiration from Julia Quinn’s Regency-era romance novels, this costume drama delves into the lives of the eight Bridgerton siblings, each pursuing love amidst the glamour and intrigue of London’s upper class social circle.

Given that every book within Julia Quinn’s initial Bridgerton series is centered around one of the eight Bridgerton siblings, it’s quite logical to assume that the series could span as long as eight seasons.

In another part of the interview, Shonda Rhimes shared an intriguing story about her initial encounter with Quinn’s books. She found the first one in a hotel room and immediately bought the rest, having been drawn in by its captivating content.

As a hardcore gamer, I’ve always rolled my eyes at those fluffy romance novels. But then, I stumbled upon one that hooked me! So much so, it dragged me out of bed with a cold, straight into the bookstore where I snatched up every last book and dashed back home to devour them all in one sitting.

However, for me, “Bridgerton” isn’t a romance novel; instead, it feels more like a work-place drama. In this series, the female characters seem to lack control in other aspects of their lives.

In my gaming world, their influence mainly lies in the partners they choose and the nuptials they arrange, considering these unions serve as our shared workspace. So when we game together, we’re essentially co-workers working towards a common goal – a successful marriage that benefits us all, as per our beliefs. I understand this perspective might not align with yours, but it’s how I’ve come to view things.
