Brides at war! Married At First Sight stars in frosty feud as they clash over fur coat at fan meet-up event: ‘Tone deaf’

They came for the selfies and stayed for the subtle shade.

Instead of being a joyful gathering, the planned Married At First Sight fan event in Melbourne became an uncomfortable situation for Natalie Parham and Jacqui Burfoot as they ended up at odds due to a dispute over style choices.

Witnesses didn’t notice a scene – but behind the scenes, things got frosty fast.

As a dedicated follower, I’m sharing that Natalie, who starred on Nine’s series last year, expressed her disagreement with Jacqui’s decision to wear imitation fur. She deemed it as “tone deaf” in light of the recent criticism faced by co-star Carina Mirabile for similar fashion choices.

‘She called her out for wearing imitation fur – [and] promoting the fur trade,’ a spy revealed.

It seems unusual to me that you might choose to wear it, given the negative reactions towards Carina. But then again, I’m not really up-to-date with fashion trends.

Jackie, who bought the outfit just yesterday, apparently felt disappointed upon receiving unexpected criticism.

Natalie confessed that she made a facial expression, and later found it necessary to express her regret ahead of time to her co-star Clint Rice about how she managed the situation.

Natasha shared with Daily Mail Australia that Jacqui had been upset because she had purchased the item just the day before, and her expression showed it.

‘I already said to them I disapprove of their throw stones mentality.’

Regardless of any discomfort, Natalie openly expressed her lack of interest in pretending to get along for show, opting instead to spend time with her friend Lyndall Grace.

She was looking forward to spending time with Lyndall, and they ended up doing so – she doesn’t socialize with people she isn’t fond of, as she stated straightforwardly.

Following the controversy I found myself embroiled in last month, after donning a fur coat at Australian Fashion Week and being criticized by an animal activist, I responded with a counterargument.

In a post on his account Warrior For Animals, Bailey publicly called out the reality TV star for wearing a long vintage fur coat at an event that prohibits animal skins. He accused her of going against the rules set in place regarding animal products.

Later on, Carina took to her personal social media platform to reassure her fans that the rugged, brown coat she bought in Brooklyn is indeed a fake fur piece.

The trouble started when Bailey posted a montage featuring Carina in her fur coat, alongside the announcement that AFW had prohibited all animal-derived materials on their runways.

During an interview with Daily Mail Australia, it was the second occasion that Carina brought up the subject of wearing fur, as she was questioned about her chosen attire.

She confirmed that the fur coat she’s wearing is her own, which she purchased in Brooklyn, New York. She’s also wearing shapewear from SKIMS and nylon stockings like tights under it.

Carina donned a SKIMS ‘Ultimate Butt’ bodysuit in a neutral tone under her coat, choosing an outfit reminiscent of Kim Kardashian’s style.

Although the bride hasn’t explicitly addressed Bailey’s allegations, she later posted on her Instagram Stories that the coat in question isn’t made of real fur.

‘It’s not real fur FYI and my stylist uses vegan products,’ she captioned an image of her look.

Carina’s makeup artist Angelina Jade commented beneath saying: ‘She a vegan baddie.’

The budding fashionista also made a statement to Chattr, reiterating she was not wearing real fur.

In my book as a lifestyle enthusiast, what I own and wear should always be acquired ethically. For instance, this isn’t actual fur; instead, it’s a find from a vintage store in New York City that aligns with my commitment to ethical fashion.

She went on to say it was ‘worrying’ to see people jump to conclusions so quickly.

In today’s world, I find myself increasingly alarmed by how swiftly judgments are passed. It’s not just concerning; it can have a profound impact on individuals’ lives.

‘We are not robots. If people have nothing nice to say, they shouldn’t say anything at all.

As a passionate advocate for peace, I firmly believe that our world already carries a heavy burden of cruelty. Instead of contributing to this vicious cycle, let us strive to be agents of change, working tirelessly to create a more tranquil, harmonious environment.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Carina for additional insights, and also reached out to the Australian Fashion Council to confirm any reported grievances.

This year and moving forward, the AFW has prohibited any items made from animal sources such as fur, exotic hides, and feathers, derived from wildlife, from appearing on the catwalks.
