Brian Cox Reveals Ozempic Use and Survives Near-Death Plane Crash in Shocking Interview
Brian Cox disclosed that he’s taking Ozempic and shared surprising accounts of a close brush with death.
In simpler terms, the actor from Succession, aged 78, shared an honest perspective about his health during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, which will be broadcast on Saturday evening.
On the ITV talk show, Brian disclosed that he uses Ozempic to manage his type 2 diabetes, countering accusations that this medication is exclusively intended for overweight individuals.
When Jonathan praised his lean figure, Brian responded: “Indeed, that’s thanks to Ozempic. Yes, it’s accurate. I’m a diabetic and Ozempic is designed for diabetics; it’s not meant for those who are overweight.
Ozempic, a medication primarily utilized for managing type 2 diabetes by regulating blood sugar levels, has garnered attention due to its reported use among several well-known figures for weight loss purposes.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share the intriguing revelations made by stars like Sharon Osbourne, Rebel Wilson, and Amy Schumer. They’ve been open about their past experiences with a contentious substance that has sparked much debate.

In an extensive conversation, Brian recounted a startling incident from his past – a brush with death – and explained that it was Laurence Olivier who played a crucial role in rescuing him.
In October 1965, Brian had a scheduled flight from Edinburgh, where he was employed, to London for an interview with Laurence. However, the well-known actor ended up cancelling the meeting.
He shared that he was employed at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, and he had a meeting scheduled with someone. He was planning to travel to London to meet this person.
I was all set to leave, but I received a message from Olivier’s team informing me that he wouldn’t be able to meet due to other obligations, hence cancelling our scheduled meeting.
In simpler terms, it means that Brian stated that Laurence canceling their meeting turned out to be a lifesaver because the plane Brian was supposed to board later crashed during landing at London Heathrow Airport, resulting in the tragic loss of all 36 passengers on board.
‘I was sitting there and I thought I won’t go to London,’ he explained.
Yesterday, I returned home, and upon waking up the next day, I found the Sunday newspaper on my doorstep. In its back pages, it reported an unfortunate incident – a flight from Edinburgh’s Turnhouse airport had crashed at Heathrow, claiming the lives of everyone aboard. Regrettably, that was the flight I was supposed to board.
‘In a way, he saved my life. I was bowled over by it.’

On the same talk show, Brian was joined by Christina Hendricks, Oti Mabuse, and Chris McCausland. During their conversation, he shared another significant event from his life – proposing to his current spouse, Nicole Ansari.
As a devoted follower, I discovered that their initial plan was set in motion following their choice to part ways. Initially, they had decided to tie the knot, but events took an unexpected turn.
She revealed that our relationship was on the verge of separation, but this situation provided an excellent opportunity for a new proposition. It turned out that her recent travels had taken her to India, and due to my work commitments, we hadn’t been together for some time – I was engaged in a film project in Austin, Texas.
We found ourselves seated, engaged in conversation. My spouse, truly exceptional as she is, boasts an extraordinary character. We arrived at the choice to separate, and I felt the alternative was matrimony. She pondered for approximately 25 seconds before responding, “I believe that’s a wise decision.
In the year 2002, the pair exchanged wedding vows in the lively city of Las Vegas and have since welcomed into their family two sons named Orson and Torin. Currently, they are acting together on stage, presenting a captivating play centered around the renowned German composer, Johann Sebastian Bach.
Previously, Brian was married not once but twice – firstly to Lilian Monroe-Carr, and later to Caroline Burt. With Lilian, he had a daughter named Margaret, and with Caroline, he has a son called Alan.
Brian gained worldwide recognition for his role as Logan Roy in the highly successful drama series Succession, and he expressed that he’s not considering retirement in the near future, stating that he continues to enjoy his profession and has no intention of letting it go.
In the hit series Succession, he was prominently cast alongside Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin, and this year, they are both nominated for an Oscar, vying against one another in the category of Best Supporting Actor.

When asked about his allegiance, Brian openly stated that although he has seen Kieran’s film “A Real Pain,” he intentionally chooses not to view Jeremy’s production, “The Apprentice,” due to its connection to Donald Trump.
It seems that the person mentioned they refuse to watch anything related to Donald Trump. Interestingly, Donald Trump appears in ‘The Apprentice’, and this individual revealed that Jeremy is taking on the role of a lawyer in the story.
‘I watched Kieran’s movie, and it was terrific. I also believe Jeremy is great, but since I refuse to watch anything related to him – referring to Trump here – I can’t fairly evaluate his work.’
At the Oscars, Kieran and Jeremy will compete with Guy Pearce from The Brutalist, Yuriy Borisov of Anora, and Edward Norton for the film A Complete Unknown. In simpler terms, they are all nominated in the same category at the Oscars.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 9.35pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
