Brenda Song’s Fiancé Macaulay Culkin ‘Ruined’ Home Alone for Her

Brenda Song admitted that watching Home Alone with her fiance, Macaulay Culkin, ruined her appreciation for the movie because she insisted they watch it together.

On The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 36-year-old actress shared that at an early stage of their relationship, she asked her future husband, aged 44, to watch the beloved Christmas movie where he played the main character Kevin McCallister alongside her.

However, Brenda quickly regretted her plea shortly after she pressed play. 

When Christmas rolled around this year, as usual, the mother of two shared that she never misses watching Home Alone during the festive season.

For nearly a decade, I hadn’t watched that film myself – I had no desire to – but I insisted we do so anyway. In essence, I said something like, “It’s crucial that we do.

But disaster soon struck when Macaulay got carried away with spilling secrets from the set. 

[He] began sharing secret anecdotes with me. But as he went on, I interjected, “Hold on. Hold on. You’re spoiling it for me.

The film seems incredibly dear to countless individuals, which leaves me quite touched, to be honest.

1990 saw the premiere of “Home Alone,” featuring Macaulay Culkin as the character Kevin, who found himself alone at home when his family accidentally left for a trip to Paris, leaving him to survive on his own.

In the movie, it was Kevin who had to defend against burglars Harry and Marv, portrayed by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, as they attempted to invade his extensive residence.

By setting up cunning safety measures and employing sly strategies, the adolescent managed to safeguard both himself and his residence when he was left at home on his own.

In 1992, the follow-up film, titled Home Alone 2, was released. However, another predicament occurred as Kevin’s family found themselves unable to locate him – on this occasion, it happened at an airport.

Kevin boarded a flight to New York while the rest of his family flew to Florida.

As I managed to secure a lavish one-night lodging at the Plaza, I spotted Harry and Marv, planning to burglarize an elderly man’s toy shop – quite unfortunately, not for the first time. Once again, I felt compelled to intervene personally to thwart their nefarious scheme.

On the program, Brenda shared that Macaulay is yet to master the skill of driving.

She started by saying, “I often remark that Mac stands out as an exceptionally unique individual, recognized globally as the most renowned child actor.

He remains inexperienced behind the wheel! The other day, I had him join me for a ride in our neighborhood. I must confess, it was quite nerve-wracking. A 44-year-old gentleman taking the driver’s seat for the very first time? I think we should consider hiring a professional for such a task.

The actor from Running Point remarked, “He spent his life and childhood in hotels, he simply hadn’t handled laundry before, and it left me quite astonished…

Since I turned 10, I’ve been assisting my mom with laundry chores. Now, it amuses me to show him how to do laundry himself.

In approximately 2014, Brenda first encountered Macaulay through a common acquaintance. They rekindled their connection in 2017, during filming for Seth Green’s initial directorial project, titled “Changeland,” which took place in Thailand.

On April 5th, Song and Culkin are set to commemorate the fourth birthday of their son, Dakota Song Culkin, who bears the same name as his late sister. Tragically, she passed away at age 29 in 2008 following a car accident.

Born and raised in California, and born and bred in New York City, these two lovebirds exchanged rings in January 2022. They are equally joyful parents to their two-year-old boy, Carson Song Culkin.
