Brenda Blethyn’s new British thriller Dragonfly has confirmed its first UK screening.
After its debut at The Tribeca Film Festival a month ago, Dragonfly is set to make its UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, happening from 14th to 20th August. It will be shown on the Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday.
In the movie, the actors known for their roles in Vera, Atonement, and Birdman, Andrea Riseborough, and Jason Watkins from W1A, join forces. The plot revolves around a woman named Colleen, who steps up to care for her elderly neighbors Elise, as she feels that the current professionals aren’t providing adequate care.
Or is there a hidden agenda behind Colleen’s actions, or is it simply that those around her are unjustifiably suspicious?
The reviews for this movie by critics attending its screening at Tribeca have been exceptionally favorable, earning it a remarkable 92% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes.
