The new Apple TV+ series, Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad fame, is quickly becoming a hit. The show centers on Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn, who is one of only twelve people worldwide immune to a strange virus from space that causes extreme happiness and a collective consciousness. The cast also features Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, Samba Schutte, Peter Bergman, Miriam Shor, and Karan Soni.
The new series Pluribus quickly became the most-watched show on Apple TV in the United States, reaching the top spot on its daily chart just after its November 7th premiere with the first two episodes. It surpassed the popular drama The Morning Show, which is nearing the end of its current fourth season.
Rounding out the top 5 chart are three more shows: the thriller The Last Frontier at number 3, the spy series Slow Horses at number 4, and the mystery series Down Cemetery Road at number 5. All of these shows are currently airing new seasons, except for Slow Horses, which finished its fifth season on October 29th.
Whether the new series will become as popular as Apple TV+ hits like Ted Lasso and Severance is still unknown. But the fact that it’s already number one despite only having the first two episodes of Pluribus available suggests it has potential.
The show’s audience could increase as new episodes become available. Some people will likely watch the latest episode right away, while others catch up on past ones. This combination could keep the series as the most-watched for a long time.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited because things are looking great for the show to keep going strong! The early reviews for the newest episodes, especially from Pluribus, have been absolutely amazing – it’s got a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes! Even though regular viewers haven’t been quite as blown away as the critics, it’s still sitting at a really solid 87% Fresh score on the Popcornmeter, which is fantastic!
Viewers seem to be enjoying Pluribus more than recent seasons of shows like Slow Horses (84%) and The Morning Show (53%), and even better than the first seasons of The Last Frontier (57%) and Down Cemetery Road (61%). If the rest of season one keeps up this momentum, Apple TV was right to quickly renew the show for two more seasons.
