Actor Raymond Cruz spent five hours in detention on Monday following an argument involving soap and three females from his Los Angeles community.
Actor Bryan Cranston, famously known for his role as Tuco Salamanca in “Breaking Bad,” was cleaning his car on the street outside his residence in Silver Lake, when another vehicle carrying three women parked extremely close to him. According to Raphael Berko, Cranston’s representative from Media Artists Group.
As a cinephile, I requested the three ladies, seemingly in their thirties, to shift their vehicle at least a foot back to prevent it from getting drenched, as per my observation.
Berko mentioned that the women behaved impolitely towards him, refusing him, but he also noted that there was plenty of parking to be found elsewhere along the street.
Instead, the women took out their phones and started to record Cruz, Berko said.
As a dedicated fan, I found myself starstruck when I encountered the actor known for his role as detective Julio Sanchez in “The Closer” and its spin-off series “Major Crimes.” Caught off guard with a hose in hand, he seemed to feel uncomfortable and, in an attempt to maintain privacy, turned around and respectfully asked us to halt our recording.
During this incident, according to Berko, it seems that some water might have accidentally been splashed onto the women. However, these women, including one who was the daughter of a local housekeeper, asserted that Cruz deliberately sprayed them with water. Consequently, they contacted the police to report what they perceived as an assault.
Law enforcement officials from the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Cruz and held him in custody for approximately five hours. However, according to Berko, he and his client anticipate that the charges against Cruz will ultimately be dismissed.
The incident was described by Berko as simply a case of miscommunication, and he stressed that Cruz does not possess any prior criminal convictions.
On October 1, the actor is set to appear in court, however, as of late Tuesday afternoon, no charges have been publicly documented.
